Interfaith and Islam are two opposites

Introduction

Do not be deceived by those calling for a “universal religion” namely “Abrahamic faith” and “Interfaith”. This is a pure deception and a means to eradicate the light of Islām and lose our true Islamic identity and values. Although, these hypocrites and disbelievers will never succeed in eradicating the light of Islām, however, the belief of a common Muslim is in jeopardy. The Muslims are on the verge of losing their akhirah (the Hereafter) while thinking they’re upon the correct path, they’re on verge of entering the hellfire for eternity. This is because whoever dies as a disbeliever will surely have his abode in hellfire for eternity.

Allāh said

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ مَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَن يَغْفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ

Indeed, those who disbelieved and averted [people] from the path of Allāh and then died while they were disbelievers – never will Allāh forgive them.

Surah Muḥammad 49:34 ¹

We have our own ways that are derived by shariah and that is because our Lord is Allāh , our Protector and our Aider, and they have their own ways that are derived by their whims and desires and they have no protector and no aider!

Allāh said

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَوْلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَأَنَّ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ لَا مَوْلَىٰ لَهُمْ

That is because Allāh is the protector of those who have believed and because the disbelievers have no protector.

Surah Muḥammad 49:11 ²

Either you’re in Islām or you’re not! There isn’t a middle ground!

I do not seek to please anyone with this article, not my co-Muslims, not my friends, not the scholars, not any one on the face of the earth. I am writing this, seeking only the Blessed Face of Allāh . This is why, I might sound harsh at times and this is because of my love for the religion of Allāh and its correct understanding. The reality sometimes is bitter to swallow but it is not my way to sugar coat things. I am very firm with my stances and I say what I say based on Qur’an and Sunnah and I try to follow the understandings of a’ima (leaders, imams) of the salaf who were the true inheritors of the Prophet ﷺ.

Objective

My objective with this article is to:

1. Educate those who have mixed their understanding of correct Islam with the belief of interfaith
2. Expose the Munāfiqeen (hypocrites) to themselves. These are the people who assume they are Muslims while their inner self is filled with hypocrisy.
3. Present the correct understanding of what Islam stands for, without mis-quoting the sacred texts and without sugar coating.

I have done this using three chapters and within each chapter their respective subtitles:

1. Who is Ibrahīm ?
   I have discussed how the belief of Prophet Ibrahīm is completely opposite to the belief of those who call for interfaith and “universal religion”. Jews and Christians are neither on the same belief (their creed is corrupted) as Ibrahīm nor on the same foundations (their sources are corrupted).

2. Islam did not come to co-exist
   These interfaith believers try to change the foundations of Islam and think that Islam is a religion just like all other religions. I have tried to remove this misconception under this chapter. I have also discussed how the interfaith dialogue that Islam calls for is different to their understanding.

3. Islam is a religion of peace and a religion of war
   Another tactic used by the interfaith believers and the Munāfiqeen is in their saying “Islam means peace”, no! Islam does not mean peace! Islam means submission and Muslim means those who submit. Islam has both peace and warfare part of it. This is what I have discussed in this chapter.

Who is Ibrahīm (alyahissalām)?

Ibrahīm was neither a Mushrik (a polythiest) nor a disbeliever like Jews and Christians.
Allāh ﷻ said

مَا كَانَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّا وَلَا نَصْرَانِيًّا وَلَٰكِن كَانَ حَنِيفًا مُّسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allāh]. And he was not of the polytheists.

Surat āl-‘Imrān 3:67 ³

Jews and Christians are Disbelievers

Jews and christians, on the other hands, are disbelievers and will abide in hell forever

Allāh said

وَقَالُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ تَهْتَدُوا۟ ۗ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِۦمَ حَنِيفًا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

They say, “Be Jews or Christians [so] you will be guided.” Say, “Rather, [we follow] the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth, and he was not of the polytheists.”

Surah al-Baqarah 2:135 ⁴

Notice how Allāh did not equate the Jews and Christians to the religion of Abraham, in fact, Allāh equated Jews and Christians with polytheism.

Allāh said about christians

لَّقَدْ كَفَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ثَالِثُ ثَلَٰثَةٍ ۘ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّآ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ ۚ وَإِن لَّمْ يَنتَهُوا۟ عَمَّا يَقُولُونَ لَيَمَسَّنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

They have certainly disbelieved who say, “Allāh is the third of three.” And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.

Surah al-Ma’ida 5:73 ⁵

Prophet ﷺ said

وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لاَ يَسْمَعُ بِي أَحَدٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ يَهُودِيٌّ وَلاَ نَصْرَانِيٌّ ثُمَّ يَمُوتُ وَلَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِالَّذِي أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ إِلاَّ كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ

By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muḥammad, he who amongst the community of Jews or Christians hears about me, but does not affirm his belief in that with which I have been sent and dies in this state (of disbelief), he shall be but one of the denizens of Hell-Fire.

Sahih Muslim 153 ⁶

Allāh said

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ شَرُّ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ

Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture (meaning Jews and Christians) and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures

Surah al-Bayyinah 98:6 ⁷

So, don’t think the Jews and Christians and Muslims all are heading towards al-Jannah!

Ibrahim (alyahissalām) had explicit alliance

Ibrahim did not have an implicit alliance with regards to his Mushrik father. He was very clear on his stance after things became clear to him.

وَمَا كَانَ ٱسْتِغْفَارُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ إِلَّا عَن مَّوْعِدَةٍ وَعَدَهَآ إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُۥٓ أَنَّهُۥ عَدُوٌّ لِّلَّهِ تَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُ ۚ إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَأَوَّٰهٌ حَلِيمٌ

And the request of forgiveness of Abraham for his father was only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became apparent to Abraham that his father was an enemy to Allāh, he disassociated himself from him. Indeed was Abraham compassionate and patient.

Surah at-Tawbah 9:114 ⁸

This ayah was revealed when the mushrikeen used the actions of Ibrahīm of seeking forgiveness of his mushrik father. Allāh clarified the matter that when it became clear to Ibrahīm that his father was an enemy of Allāh (because of his shirk), he disassociated himself from him.

Allāh also said

قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ فِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥٓ إِذْ قَالُوا۟ لِقَوْمِهِمْ إِنَّا بُرَءَٰٓؤُا۟ مِنكُمْ وَمِمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَفَرْنَا بِكُمْ وَبَدَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْعَدَٰوَةُ وَٱلْبَغْضَآءُ أَبَدًا حَتَّىٰ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ

There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, “Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allāh. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allāh alone“

Surah al-Mumtahinah 60:4 ⁹

Note the “وَحْدَهُ” in the ayah, meaning “alone”. Not alongside other partners, this is a clear disassociation from the Imam of the Muslims (Ibrahim ).

Jew and Christians are not our brothers

These jews and christians are not our brothers in humanity. Yes we all come from Adam but that does not mean they’re all our brothers and sisters. If we use this analogy, even the fire worshippers, the hindu, the buddhists, they’re also our brothers?! And if we use the analogy to narrow down to the Abrahamic religions, even then, they’re not our brothers as we have explained that their creed and our creed are like east and the west. Our brotherhood is but by faith.

Allāh said

إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ

The believers are but brothers

Surah al-Hujurāt 49:10 ¹⁰

And Allāh elsewhere in the Qurʾān gave us the criteria of brotherhood

فَإِن تَابُوا۟ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ ۗ وَنُفَصِّلُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ

But if they repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, then they are your brothers in religion; and We detail the verses for a people who know.

Surah at-Tawbah 9:11 ¹¹

It is not befitting for someone to ally himself to a mushrik who is also an enemy of Allāh fighting His religion, even if they’re your parents or close kin.

Allāh said

لَّا تَجِدُ قَوْمًا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ يُوَآدُّونَ مَنْ حَآدَّ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَلَوْ كَانُوٓا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ أَوْ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ أَوْ إِخْوَٰنَهُمْ أَوْ عَشِيرَتَهُمْ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ كَتَبَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلْإِيمَٰنَ وَأَيَّدَهُم بِرُوحٍ مِّنْهُ

You will not find a people who believe in Allāh and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allāh and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred. Those – He has decreed within their hearts faith and supported them with spirit from Him.

Surah al-Mujādilah 58:22 ¹²

Be kind even to the disbelievers

I want to make one point clear here. What I said above does not mean the blood relations are forsaken with every non-Muslim. This is not true, the above ayah is referring to those who are enemy of Islām and who try to change the laws of shariah.

Allāh said

لَّا يَنْهَىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجُوكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمْ أَن تَبَرُّوهُمْ وَتُقْسِطُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُقْسِطِينَ

Allāh does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allāh loves those who act justly.

Surah al-Mumtahina 60:8 ¹³

and He said about mushrik parents

وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۖ وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا

But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness

Surah Luqmān 31:15 ¹⁴

So, it is not befitting to forsake your mushrik parents. Accompany them in that which is not forbidden in Islam. Just to emphasise more on this point, it means if your parents threaten you to go to church otherwise they will forsake you, then be it, you don’t obey them in this (even then you will not treat them harshly). But if they need anything else from you (that Islam does not forbid, e.g, feeding them, treating them with respect), then be kind to them and obey them.

Ibrahim (alayhissalām) was not a Mushrik like Jews and Christians

Allāh said

إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةً قَانِتًا لِّلَّهِ حَنِيفًا وَلَمْ يَكُ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

Indeed, Abraham was a [comprehensive] leader, devoutly obedient to Allāh, inclining toward truth, and he was not of those who associate others with Allāh.

Surah an-Nahl 16:120 ¹⁵

And Allāh emphasised it again by saying

وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

and he was not of those who associate with Allāh.

Surah an-Nahl 16:123 ¹⁶

so what was he? He was a devoted Muslim!

Allāh said

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُۥ رَبُّهُۥٓ أَسْلِمْ ۖ قَالَ أَسْلَمْتُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

When his Lord said to him (meaning Ibrahim ), “Submit”, he said “I have submitted [in Islam] to the Lord of the worlds.”

Surah al-Baqarah 2:131 ¹⁷

Not only that, he also advised his children to become Muslims and not die except in that state

Allāh said

وَوَصَّىٰ بِهَآ إِبْرَٰهِۦمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعْقُوبُ يَٰبَنِىَّ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰ لَكُمُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

And Abraham instructed his sons [to do the same] and [so did] Jacob, [saying], “O my sons, indeed Allāh has chosen for you this religion, so do not die except while you are Muslims.”

Surah al-Baqarah 2:132 ¹⁸

Islam did not come to co-exist

The hypocrites do not like this but the reality is that Islām did not come to co-exist with other religions, instead it came to supersede whether the disbelievers, the hypocrite s and the polytheists like it or dislike it. If you hate it, die in your rage but that won’t change the reality.

Allāh said

مَن كَانَ يَظُنُّ أَن لَّن يَنصُرَهُ ٱللَّهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ بِسَبَبٍ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ثُمَّ لْيَقْطَعْ فَلْيَنظُرْ هَلْ يُذْهِبَنَّ كَيْدُهُۥ مَا يَغِيظُ

Whoever should think that Allāh will not support [Prophet Muḥammad] in this world and the Hereafter – let him extend a rope to the ceiling, then cut off [his breath], and let him see: will his effort remove that which enrages [him]?

Surah al-Hajj 22:15 ¹⁹

Allāh said

هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُۥ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ ٱلْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلدِّينِ كُلِّهِۦ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْمُشْرِكُونَ

It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although those who associate others with Allāh dislike it.

Surah as-Saff 61:9 ²⁰, Surah at-Tawbah 9:33 ²¹

No other religion is acceptable

If you want to choose any other religion than Islam, then know that it is not acceptable with Allāh . NO!

Allāh said

إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمُ ۗ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ ۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ

Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allāh is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allāh, then indeed, Allāh is swift in [taking] account.

Surah aali-Imrān 3:19 ²²

and if anyone believes that because he was kind to others and was very helpful in nature while he dies in state of other than being a Muslim, he will be forgiven, then he is mistaken!

Allāh said

وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمِ دِينًا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ

And whoever desires other than Islam as religion – never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.

Surah aal-Imrān 3:85 ²³

They want to eradicate the light of Islam

The agenda of the munāfiqeen is clear to extinguish the light of Islam.

Allāh said

يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِـُٔوا۟ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِۦ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ

They want to extinguish the light of Allāh with their mouths, but Allāh will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.

Surah as-Saff 61:8 ²⁴

Allāh said

يُرِيدُونَ أَن يُطْفِـُٔوا۟ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَيَأْبَى ٱللَّهُ إِلَّآ أَن يُتِمَّ نُورَهُۥ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ

They want to extinguish the light of Allāh with their mouths, but Allāh refuses except to perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.

Surah at-Tawbah 9:31 ²⁵

No matter how hard they try, just like they did it with logic, science and mysticism. But Muslims have many glad-tidings just like the ayāt above. Whether Munafiqeen like it or dislike it is irrelevant.

Prophet ﷺ said

لاَ يَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي ظَاهِرِينَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُمْ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ وَهُمْ ظَاهِرُونَ

A group of my follower swill remain predominant (victorious) till Allāh’s Order (the Hour) comes upon them while they are still predominant (victorious).

Sahih al-Bukhari 7311 ²⁶, Sahih Muslim 156 ²⁷

And our madāris (the Islamic institutions) where we learn Qur’an and ḥadīth upon the understanding of righteous predecessors will not cease (in shā’ Allāh). Even if you are able to destroy all of them, one thing you cannot alter is Qur’ān as Allāh Himself has taken the responsibility of protection of Qur’ān.

Allāh said

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُون

Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian.

Surah al-Hijr 15:9 ²⁸

Yes, some Munafiqeen scholars (from the U.S, not naming anyone, not faming anyone!) have tried to cast doubts in hearts of many Muslims about the Qur’ān but they were shunned badly by the Muslims who believe in matters of unseen.

Allāh exposes The Munafiqeen

The munafiqeen are always afraid of being exposed. What is contained in their hearts is filth and hatred for true tawheed and Islam. They wish to craft their own version of Islam that is derived by interfaith agenda.

Allāh said

يَحْذَرُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ أَن تُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُورَةٌ تُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ ۚ قُلِ ٱسْتَهْزِءُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا تَحْذَرُونَ

They hypocrites are apprehensive lest a surah be revealed about them, informing them of what is in their hearts. Say, “Mock [as you wish]; indeed, Allāh will expose that which you fear.”

Surah at-Tawbah 9:64 ²⁹

Another name of Surat at-Tawbah is Al-Fadiha (The exposer) because it exposed the Munafiqeen by showing over 50 of their traits.

This is why this Munaafiq (Wasim Rizvi, India) tried to remove 26 ayāt from the Qur’an. Here is the original tweet (in Hindi)

Translation:

I have taken out 26 such ayāt from the Qur’an that pushes the idea of terrorism and changed the order of some surah of the Qur’an that were mis-ordered and have produced a new Qur’an. I have sent a sample of it to the prime minister alongside a letter. I have said to him to spread this Qur’an to all the Islamic institutes and that he should order them to use this for their teachings. Very soon this Qur’an will be available in the market as well that I have fixed, and this is the only correct Qur’an.

Allāh said

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَاتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍ ۙ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا ٱئْتِ بِقُرْءَانٍ غَيْرِ هَٰذَآ أَوْ بَدِّلْهُ ۚ

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, “Bring us a Qur’an other than this or change it.”

Surah Yūnus 10:15 ³⁰

Seeking judgement from other than shariah

One of the characteristics of the Munafiqeen is that they seek judgement from other than Allāh . They do not like to be judged based on shariah and their hatred for the shariah is exposed on YouTube and Facebook and other media channels.

Allāh said

إِنَّمَا كَانَ قَوْلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذَا دُعُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن يَقُولُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا ۚ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

The only statement of the [true] believers when they are called to Allāh and His Messenger to judge between them is that they say, “We hear and we obey.” And those are the successful.

Surah an-Noor 24:51 ³¹

Also Allāh clearly said in another place

فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّىٰ يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ حَرَجًا مِّمَّا قَضَيْتَ وَيُسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا

But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muḥammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.

Surah an-Nisā 4:65 ³²

This is a clear warning for those who assume that they are still Muslims while their inner self hate the establishment of shariah. They believe that the hudood punishments of shariah (e.g, chopping the hand of a thief, or covering of Muslim women) are forms of oppression and barbarism. This characteristic of Munafiqeen was exposed especially in recent time when the banners of tawheed were raised by Sheikh-ul-Islam, Muḥammad bin Abdul Wahhab to fight the Mushrikeen.

Muslims are not kind to the enemies of Allāh

When it comes to the disbelievers who have waged war against the religion of Allāh (Islam), we are not suppose to be kind and accepting. This is where we draw line and they lose our kindness. The same applies to those who are trying their best to eradicate the light of Islam. The muslims are not kind to the enemies of Allāh, be it from munafiqeen who think they’re Muslim or from disbelievers.

Allāh said

مُّحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥٓ أَشِدَّآءُ عَلَى ٱلْكُفَّارِ رُحَمَآءُ بَيْنَهُمْ

Muḥammad is the Messenger of Allāh; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves.

Surah al-Fath 48:29 ³³

Also, Allāh commanded us to abstain and fight those who fight us for our religion

إِنَّمَا يَنْهَىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ قَٰتَلُوكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ وَأَخْرَجُوكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمْ وَظَٰهَرُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ إِخْرَاجِكُمْ أَن تَوَلَّوْهُمْ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُمْ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

Allāh only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion – [forbids] that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

Surah al-Mumtahina 60:9 ³⁴

Islam is a religion of peace and war

Shame on those who try to sugar coat the religion of Allāh and change it to be monasticism. Islām is religion of peace and religion of warfare, it’s free from the ways of rahbaaniyyah (monasticism). We are in peace with those who are peaceful with us and if someone comes between us and our worship of Allāh then we will fight till our last breath until one of two things happen:

1. We are given victory and we can continue to worship Allāh and call others to Islam
2. We achieve martyrdom in the process and this is a biggest blessing that every Muslim, Muwāhid seek.

Religion of peace

As previously said, Islam is religion of peace for those who want peace with it, practically! Meaning, they don’t pretend to be nice and in reality they are not back stabbers.

Allāh said regarding a specific treaty

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَنقُصُوكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَمْ يُظَٰهِرُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدًا فَأَتِمُّوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ عَهْدَهُمْ إِلَىٰ مُدَّتِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

Excepted are those with whom you made a treaty among the polytheists and then they have not been deficient toward you in anything or supported anyone against you; so complete for them their treaty until their term [has ended]. Indeed, Allāh loves the righteous [who fear Him].

Surah at-Tawbah 9:4 ³⁵

and Allāh said to those who repent and accept Islām

فَإِن تَابُوا۟ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ ۗ وَنُفَصِّلُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ

But if they repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, then they are your brothers in religion; and We detail the verses for a people who know.

Surah at-Tawbah 9:11 ³⁶

and as previously quoted

لَّا يَنْهَىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجُوكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمْ أَن تَبَرُّوهُمْ وَتُقْسِطُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُقْسِطِينَ

Allāh does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allāh loves those who act justly.

Surah al-Mumtahina 60:8 ³⁷

Do not lie about Religion of Allāh

There are many Muslims with corrupt understanding and many Munafiqeen. This is a serious crime as you are saying about Allāh and his religion without knowledge which is strictly forbidden.

Allāh said

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ

And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allāh a lie or denies His verses? Those will attain their portion of the decree

Surah al-A’arāf 7:37 ³⁸

and Allāh said

قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّىَ ٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَٱلْإِثْمَ وَٱلْبَغْىَ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَأَن تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًا وَأَن تَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Say, “My Lord has only forbidden immoralities – what is apparent of them and what is concealed – and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allāh that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allāh that which you do not know.”

Surah al-A’arāf 7:33 ³⁹

And there are others who deliberately lie, associating a saying to Prophet ﷺ to sugar coat this religion. For them there is a stern warning

Prophet ﷺ said

لاَ تَكْذِبُوا عَلَىَّ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَىَّ يَلِجُ فِي النَّارِ

Do not lie upon me, for indeed whoever lies upon me, he will be admitted into the Fire.

Jami’ at-Tirmidhi 2660 ⁴⁰ (Sahih)

and He ﷺ said

مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَىَّ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ

Whoever tells a lie against me (intentionally) then (surely) let him occupy, his seat in Hell-fire.

Sahih al-Bukhari 107 ⁴¹

Religion of warfare

This religion is not just religion of peace, our Prophet ﷺ was stern against the Munafiqeen, as he was commanded.

Allāh said

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ جَٰهِدِ ٱلْكُفَّارَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱغْلُظْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَمَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

O Prophet! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be severe against them, their abode will be Hell, and worst indeed is that destination.

Surah at-Tahreem 66:9 ⁴², Surah at-Tawbah 9:73 ⁴³

Prophet ﷺ was also ordered

فَقَٰتِلُوٓا۟ أَئِمَّةَ ٱلْكُفْرِ

then fight the leaders of disbelief

Surah at-Tawbah 9:12 ⁴⁴

The command to fight the disbelievers and being harsh with them are mentioned in many ayaat of Qur’an.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَٰتِلُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يَلُونَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ وَلْيَجِدُوا۟ فِيكُمْ غِلْظَةً ۚ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

O you who have believed, fight those adjacent to you of the disbelievers and let them find in you harshness. And know that Allāh is with the righteous.

Surah at-Tawbah 9:123 ⁴⁵

Similarly, command to eradicate shirk from the face of the earth are mentioned in many ayāt and ahādtīth.

Allāh said:

وَقَٰتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّىٰ لَا تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُونَ ٱلدِّينُ كُلُّهُۥ لِلَّهِ ۚ فَإِنِ ٱنتَهَوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ

And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allāh. And if they cease – then indeed, Allāh is Seeing of what they do.

Surah al-Anfāl 8:39 ⁴⁶

Prophet ﷺ was told that it was better for him to kill the disbelievers who fought him and were caught. It was better for him to fight them thoroughly.

Allāh said

مَا كَانَ لِنَبِىٍّ أَن يَكُونَ لَهُۥٓ أَسْرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ يُثْخِنَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ

It is not for a prophet to have captives [of war] until he inflicts a massacre [upon Allāh ‘s enemies] in the land. 

Surah al-Anfāl 8:67 ⁴⁷

This is another clear ayah that suggests that Islam did not come to co-exist and interfaith is disbelief. Islam came to govern other religion and not to be on the same level as others.

Summary And What We Learn From It?

I ask Allāh to guide those with corrupt beliefs. Indeed He guides whom He wills and leaves to go astray whom He wills. We have none/zero/nil contribution in what He does and He is the Owner of Might and Does whatever He wishes! We do not ask Him what He does, Why He does, rather we will be asked!

Allāh said:

لَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْـَٔلُونَ

He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned

Surah al-Anbiya 21:23 ⁴⁸

and Allāh said

يُثَبِّتُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلْقَوْلِ ٱلثَّابِتِ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَفِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ ۖ وَيُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ۚ وَيَفْعَلُ ٱللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُ

Allāh keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. And Allāh sends astray the wrongdoers. And Allāh does what He wills.

Surah Ibrahīm 14:27 ⁴⁹

Lastly, I want to emphasise on the guidance part, one’s guidance is strongly connected to his sincerity. If you are sincere, Allāh will guide you to the truth even if it is at your last moments. And if you are insincere, Allāh might turn your heart away even if it is at your last moments.

Islam is not a joke like other people have made their religions a joke, they accept anything and everything. We on the other hand are stern with our creed and belief!

I ask Allāh for steadfastness. Peace be upon those who follow guidance!
