Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that Faatimah ((may Allah be pleased with her)) came to Abubakr (Siddique (may Allah be pleased with him)) and asked him who his heirs were. He replied:
''My wife and children''. (Faatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked:) ''Then why did I not become heir to my fathers estate?'' Abubakr (Siddique (may Allah be pleased with him)) Said: "I heard the command of Messenger of Allah Sallallhu 'Alayhi Wasallam, that we do not leave any heirs. But (I being a guardian of the waqf) for those whom Messenger of Allah ﷺ had decreed a daily allowance, I will continue to grant it. And on whom Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to spend. I will continue to spend".

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ، فَقَالَتْ: مَنْ يَرِثُكَ؟ فَقَالَ: أَهْلِي وَوَلَدِي، فَقَالَتْ: مَا لِي لا أَرِثُ أَبِي؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، يَقُولُ: لا نُورَثُ، وَلَكِنِّي أَعُولُ مَنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، يَعُولُهُ، وَأُنْفِقُ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُنْفِقُ عَلَيْهِ.
