Shama'il al-Muhammadiya 150

It is related from 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Aayhi Wasallam said:
"Use olive oil in cooking and rubbing (on the body) because it is from a mubaarak tree".

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: كُلُوا الزَّيْتَ وَادَّهِنُوا بِهِ، فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ.
