Shama'il al-Muhammadiya, Book of Prophet of Allah ﷺ Using a Dye

Abu Rimthah Taymi (may Allah be pleased with him) says:
"I attended a gathering of Messenger of Allah ﷺ with my son. Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked me, 'Is this your son?' I replied: 'Yes, this is my son. You be a witness to it.' Messenger of Allah Sallallahu 'Alahi Wasallam said: 'The revenge of his crime (jinayah) is not on you, nor is the revenge of your crime on him.' (This will be explained in the commentary). Abu Rimthah may Allah be pleased with him says: 'At that time I noticed a few hair of Messenger of Allah Salallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam were red." Imam Tirmidhi says: "This hadith is the most correct and closest on the subject of using a dye."

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنِ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو رِمْثَةَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ ابْنٍ لِي ، فَقَالَ : " ابْنُكَ هَذَا ؟ " فَقُلْتُ : نَعَمْ , أَشْهَدُ بِهِ ، قَالَ : " لا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ ، وَلا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ " ، قَالَ : وَرَأَيْتُ الشَّيْبَ أَحْمَرَ ،

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا أَحْسَنُ شَيْءٍ رُوِيَ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ ، وَأَفْسَرُ لأَنَّ الرِّوَايَاتِ الصَّحِيحَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَبْلُغِ الشَّيْبَ . وَأَبُو رِمْثَةَ اسْمُهُ : رِفَاعَةُ بْنُ يَثْرِبِيٍّ التَّيْمِيُّ .

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked:
"Did Messenger of Allah Sallallhu 'Alayhi Wasallam use a dye?" (for his hair). He replied: "Yes."

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: هَلْ خَضَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ.

Jah-dhamah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of Bashir Kha-saasiyyah (may Allah be pleased with him) says:
"I saw Messenger of Allah ﷺ coming out of the house after taking a bath and was stroking (or combing) his hair. There were signs of henna on his mubaarak head."

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ زُرَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي جَنَابٍ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، عَنِ الْجَهْدَمَةِ، امْرَأَةِ بِشْرِ ابْنِ الْخَصَاصِيَّةِ، قَالَتْ: أَنَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ يَنْفُضُ رَأْسَهُ وَقَدِ اغْتَسَلَ، وَبِرَأْسِهِ رَدْعٌ مِنْ حِنَّاءٍ أَوْ قَالَ: رَدْغٌ شَكَّ فِي هَذَا الشَّيْخُ.
