Sunan an-Nasa'i al-Kubra 7124

Muḥammad b. ʿAqīl al-Naysābūrī > ʿAlī b. al-Ḥusayn from my father > Yazīd al-Naḥwī > ʿIkrimah > Ibn ʿAbbās

"Whoever denies stoning has indeed denied the Quran, where they do not expect it." The saying comes from the verse "O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture." [Al-Ma'idah 15] So stoning was one of the things they used to conceal.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَقِيلٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ النَّحْوِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عِكْرِمَةُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

«مَنْ كَفَرَ بِالرَّجْمِ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِالْقُرْآنِ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ» قَوْلُ {يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولُنَا يُبَيِّنُ لَكُمْ كَثِيرًا مِمَّا كُنْتُمْ تُخْفُونَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ} [المائدة 15] فَكَانَ الرَّجْمُ مِمَّا أَخْفُوا
