Muḥammad b. al-Muthanná Abū Mūsá > ʿUbaydullāh b. Mūsá > Ibn Abū Laylá > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAṭāʾ > Ibn Buraydah from his father

“A woman came to-the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I gave my mother a slave girl of mine, and she has died.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah (SWT) has rewarded you, and returned to you your inheritance (without your seeking that.' ”

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى أَبُو مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي تَصَدَّقْتُ عَلَى أُمِّي بِجَارِيَةٍ فَمَاتَتْ فَقَالَ «قَدْ أجَزاَكِ اللهُ وَرَدَّ عَلَيْكِ الْمِيرَاثَ»
