Maḥmūd b. Ghaylān al-Marwazī > Bishr b. al-Sarī > Sufyān / Ibn Saʿīd al-Thawrī > Muḥammad b. ʿUqbah > Kurayb > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbbās > Rafaʿat Āmraʾah Ṣabī Lahā from Hawdaj

A woman lifted up her child and said: Messenger of Allah, would the child be credited with having performed the Hajj? Thereupon he said: Yes, and there would be a reward for you.

أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ عَنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ §رَفَعَتِ امْرَأَةٌ صَبِيًّا لَهَا مِنْ هَوْدَجٍ فَقَالَتْ

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلِهَذَا حَجٌّ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَلَكِ أَجْرٌ»
