The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Excess water should not be withheld so as to prevent (cattle) by it from grass.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
أَنَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يُمْنَعُ فَضْلُ الْمَاءِ لِيُمْنَعَ بِهِ الْكَلَأُ»
