Jabir b. Abdullah reported: I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ exhorting people on the Day of the Battle of the Ditch to fight. Zubair said: I am ready (to participate). He then again exhorted and he again said: I am ready to participate. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Behold. for every Prophet there is a helper and my helper is Zubair.

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ،
بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ نَدَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ
فَانْتَدَبَ الزُّبَيْرُ ثُمَّ نَدَبَهُمْ فَانْتَدَبَ الزُّبَيْرُ ثُمَّ نَدَبَهُمْ فَانْتَدَبَ الزُّبَيْرُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه
وسلم
" لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَوَارِيٌّ وَحَوَارِيَّ الزُّبَيْرُ " .
