(11) – باب فِي شَجَاعَةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَتَقَدُّمِهِ لِلْحَرْبِ
(11) – His Courage
Sahih Muslim 2307b
Anas reported that there was consternation in Medina. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ borrowed the horse from Abu Talha which was called Mandub. He rode it and said: We have found no reason for consternation, and we have found it to be (as quick as a torrent) of water.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَزَعٌ فَاسْتَعَارَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَرَسًا لأَبِي طَلْحَةَ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَنْدُوبٌ فَرَكِبَهُ فَقَالَ " مَا رَأَيْنَا مِنْ فَزَعٍ وَإِنْ وَجَدْنَاهُ لَبَحْرًا " .
