We were with Abu Bakr As-Siddiq when he called for a drink. Water and honey were brought to him. When he lowered it to drink, he cried and continued crying until his companions also cried. They remained silent, and he cried again until they thought they could no longer ask him. Then he wiped his eyes and they said, "O successor of the Messenger of Allah, what makes you cry?" He said, "I was with the Messenger of Allah and I saw him push something away from himself, but I did not see anyone else with him. So I asked him, 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you push away from yourself?' He said, 'This world was presented to me and I said to it, 'Leave me!' Then it returned and said, 'If I escape from you, I will never escape from those after you.'"

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نَاجِيَةَ ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَسْلَمُ الْكُوفِيُّ عَنْ مُرَّةَ الطِّيبِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ

كُنَّا مَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ فَدَعَا بِشَرَابٍ فَأُتِيَ بِمَاءٍ وَعَسَلٍ فَلَمَّا أَدْنَاهُ مِنْ فِيهِ بَكَى وَبَكَى حَتَّى أَبْكَى أَصْحَابَهُ فَسَكَتُوا وَمَا سَكَتَ ثُمَّ عَادَ فَبَكَى حَتَّى ظَنُّوا أَنَّهُمْ لَنْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَى مَسْأَلَتِهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ عَيْنَيْهِ فَقَالُوا يَا خَلِيفَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا أَبْكَاكَ؟ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَدْفَعُ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ شَيْئًا وَلَمْ أَرَ مَعَهُ أَحَدًا فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا الَّذِي تَدْفَعُ عَنْ نَفْسِكَ؟ قَالَ «هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا مُثِّلَتْ لِي فَقُلْتُ لَهَا إِلَيْكِ عَنِّي ثُمَّ رَجَعَتْ فَقَالَتْ إِنْ أَفْلَتَّ مِنِّي فَلَنْ يَنْفَلِتَ مِنِّي مَنْ بَعْدَكَ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ عبد الصمد تركه البخاري وغيره
