The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said as follows: "Then we looked and found Khalid bin Makhlad to be more steadfast, cautious, and trustworthy than Bakr bin Bakkir, so we appointed him to the extra task." This hadith was narrated by Abdullah bin Abdul-Qudus, transmitted by Al-A'mash with another chain of narration. – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحَافِظُ أَنْبَأَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ مِنْدَهٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدَانَ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ قَالَا ثنا بَكْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ثنا حَمْزَةُ الزَّيَّاتُ ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَحْوَهُ «ثُمَّ نَظَرْنَا فَوَجَدْنَا خَالِدَ بْنَ مَخْلَدٍ أَثْبَتَ وَأَحْفَظَ وَأَوْثَقَ مِنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ بَكَّارٍ فَحَكَمْنَا لَهُ بِالزِّيَادَةِ» وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْقُدُّوسِ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ بِإِسْنَادٍ آخَرَعلى شرطهما – على شرط البخاري ومسلم
