A man bought a servant during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The servant had a defect that the man was not aware of, and he took advantage of him. Later, when the man discovered the defect, he returned the servant and argued with him before the Prophet ﷺ. The man said, "O Messenger of Allah, he was in my possession for a long time." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "The defective merchandise is under warranty." – Sound

حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا اشْتَرَى غُلَامًا فِي زَمَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَبِهِ عَيْبٌ لَمْ يُعْلِمْ بِهِ فَاسْتَغَلَّهُ ثُمَّ عَلِمَ الْعَيْبَ فَرَدَّهُ فَخَاصَمَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ اسْتَغَلَّهُ مُنْذُ زَمَانٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْغَلَّةُ بِالضَّمَانِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ مَخْلَدِ بْنِ خُفَافٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ مُخْتَصَرًاصحيح – صحيح
