Abū Zakariyyā al-ʿAnbarī And ʾAbū Bakr b. Jaʿfar Waʿalī b. ʿĪsá Waʿabd Allāh b. Saʿd > Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm al-ʿAbdī > Abū Ṣāliḥ Maḥbūb b. Mūsá > Abū Isḥāq al-Fazārī > al-Ḥasan b. ʿAbdullāh al-Nakhaʿī > Yazīd b. Abū Maryam > Abū al-Jawzāʾ

I said to Hassan ibn Ali: "Tell me about an incident you witnessed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and what you understood from it." He replied, "A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and I heard him say, 'Leave what causes you doubt for that which does not cause you doubt, for indeed, evil is uncertainty and good is tranquility.' This is a narration from my father, Ummamah al-Bahili." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in this context. – Remains Silent

حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا الْعَنْبَرِيُّ وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْعَبْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ مَحْبُوبُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْفَزَارِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ النَّخَعِيِّ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ مِثْلُ مَنْ كُنْتَ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَمَاذَا عَقَلْتَ عَنْهُ؟ قَالَ أَتَى رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «دَعْ مَا يَرِيبُكَ إِلَى مَا لَا يَرِيبُكَ فَإِنَّ الشَّرَّ رِيبَةٌ وَالْخَيْرَ طُمَأْنِينَةٌ» شَاهِدُهُ حَدِيثُ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّسكت عنه الذهبي في هذا الموضع – سكت عنه
