It was asked, "O Messenger of Allah, which type of earnings is the best?" He said, "The earnings of a man through his own hand and every transaction that is free from deceit." And this is a third difference from Wail ibn Dawood, except that the two sheikhs did not exclude it from Mas'oodi, and its place is in truthfulness. Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summary. – Remains Silent

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو أَنْبَأَ الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْكَسْبِ أَطْيَبُ؟ قَالَ «كَسْبُ الرَّجُلِ بِيَدِهِ وَكُلُّ بَيْعٍ مَبْرُورٍ» وَهَذَا خِلَافٌ ثَالِثٌ عَلَى وَائِلِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ إِلَّا أَنَّ الشَّيْخَيْنِ لَمْ يُخَرِّجَا عَنِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ وَمَحَلُّهُ الصِّدْقِ سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص – سكت عنه
