Mustadrak al-Hakim 1547

Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. Kāmil b. Khalaf al-Qāḍī > ʿAbd al-Malik b. Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh al-Raqāshī > Abū Ghassān Yaḥyá b. Kathīr al-ʿAnbarī > Shuʿbah > Simāk

I entered upon Ikrimah on the day where there was uncertainty about Ramadan, and he was eating. So he said, "Come closer and eat." I said, "Indeed, I am fasting." He said, "By Allah, you will still eat." I said, "Inform me then." He said, "Ibn Abbas narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Do not fast until you see the month (i.e., the crescent moon), and do not break your fast until you see it. But if it is cloudy or overcast and you cannot see it, then complete the count of thirty days.'"
