Mustadrak al-Hakim 1541

Muḥammad b. Ṣāliḥ b. Hāniʾ > Muḥammad b. Ismāʿīl b. Mihrān > Hārūn b. Saʿīd al-Aylī > ʿAbdullāh b. Wahb > Yaḥyá b. ʿAbdullāh b. Sālim > Abū Bakr b. Nāfiʿ from his father > Ibn ʿUmar

The people saw the crescent, so I informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I had seen it. "So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fasted and ordered the people to fast." It is correct according to the condition of Muslim, and they did not dispute it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

تَرَاءَى النَّاسُ الْهِلَالَ فَأَخْبَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنِّي رَأَيْتُهُ «فَصَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَمَرَ النَّاسَ بِالصِّيَامِ» صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ
