“When the Prophet was expelled from Makkah, Abu Bakr said to him: ‘They have driven out their Prophet, verily to Allah we belong and to Him we return. They are surely doomed.’ Then it was revealed: ‘Permission to fight (against disbelievers) is given to those (believers) who are fought against, because they have been wronged; and surely, Allah is able to give them (believers) victory.’ Then I knew that there would be fighting.” Ibn Abbas said: “This is the first Verse that was revealed concerning fighting.” – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْقَزَّازُ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَزْرَقُ ثنا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

لَمَّا أَخْرَجَ أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ أَخْرَجُوا نَبِيَّهَمْ لَيَهْلِكُنَّ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ {أُذِنَ لِلَّذِينَ يُقَاتَلُونَ بِأَنَّهُمْ ظُلِمُوا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى نَصْرِهِمْ لَقَدِيرٌ} [الحج 39] وَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَقْرَؤُهَا «أَذِنَ» قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ فَعَلِمْتُ أَنَّهَا قِتَالٌ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ «وَهِيَ أَوَّلُ آيَةٍ نَزَلَتْ فِي الْقِتَالِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم – على شرط البخاري ومسلم

that Abdur-Rahman bin Awf and some of his companions came to the Prophet in Makkah and said: “O Messenger of Allah! We were respected when we were idolaters and when we believed, we were humiliated.” He said: “I have been commanded to pardon, so do not fight.” Then, when Allah caused us to move to Al-Madinah, He commanded us to fight, but they refrained. Then Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, revealed: Have you not seen those who were told to hold back their hands (from fighting) and perform As-Salah” – Sound Chain per Bukhārī

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ قَاسِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ السَّيَّارِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ حَاتِمٍ الْقَاشَانِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ وَأَصْحَابًا لَهُ أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ كُنَّا فِي عِزٍّ وَنَحْنُ مُشْرِكُونَ فَلَمَّا آمَنَّا صِرْنَا أَذِلَّةً فَقَالَ «إِنِّي أُمِرْتُ بِالْعَفْوِ فَلَا تُقَاتِلُوا الْقَوْمَ» فَلَمَّا حَوَّلَهُ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ أَمَرَهُ بِالْقِتَالِ فَكَفُّوا فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى {أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ قِيلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّوا أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقِتَالُ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ النَّاسَ} [النساء 77] «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الْبُخَارِيِّ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» على شرط البخاري – على شرط البخاري

About the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon on the day of Tabuk and said: 'There is no person like the one who holds onto the reins and strives in the cause of Allah, avoiding the evil of people. And there is no person like the one who tends to his herd and fulfills the rights of his guest.'" I (the narrator) said, "Did he say it?" He (the narrator) said, "He said it three times, so I raised my voice in Takbir (saying Allahu Akbar), praised Allah, and expressed gratitude." – Sound

أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَاضِي بِمَرْوَ ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا رَوْحٌ ثنا حَبِيبُ بْنُ شِهَابٍ الْغُبَرِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِيَ يَقُولُ أَتَيْنَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لَنَا قَالَ فَلَقِيَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ عِنْدَ بَابِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَنْتُمَا؟ فَأَخْبَرَنَاهُ فَقَالَ انْطَلِقَا إِلَى نَاسٍ عَلَى تَمْرٍ وَمَاءٍ إِنَّمَا يَسِيلُ وَادٍ بِقَدَرِهِ قُلْنَا كَثُرَ خَيْرُكَ اسْتَأْذِنْ لَنَا عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ لَنَا فَسَمِعْنَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يُحَدِّثُ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ خَطَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ تَبُوكَ فَقَالَ «مَا فِي النَّاسِ مِثْلُ رَجُلٍ آخِذٌ بِعِنَانٍ فَيُجَاهِدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَجْتَنِبُ شُرُورَ النَّاسِ وَمِثْلُ رَجُلٍ بَادٍ فِي غَنَمِهِ يُقْرِي ضَيْفَهُ وَيُؤَدِّي حَقَّهُ» قَالَ فَقُلْتُ أَقَالَهَا؟ قَالَ قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَكَبَّرْتُ وَحَمِدْتُ وَشَكَرْتُ «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» صحيح – صحيح

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I not tell you about the best of people in status?" They said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "A man who takes the reins of his horse for the sake of Allah until he is killed or dies. And shall I not tell you about the one who comes after him? A man who isolates himself in a mountain, establishing prayer and giving charity, and he testifies that there is no god but Allah." – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ وَأَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ مُوسَى الْعَدْلُ قَالَا ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثَنا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ النَّاسِ مَنْزِلَةً؟» قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «رَجُلٌ آخِذٌ بِعِنَانِ فَرَسِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يُقْتَلَ أَوْ يَمُوتَ أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِالَّذِي يَلِيهِ؟ رَجُلٌ مُعْتَزِلٌ فِي شِعْبٍ يُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ وَيَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم – على شرط البخاري ومسلم

"in the year of Tabuk, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed the people, while leaning against his mount. He said: 'Shall I not tell you of the best of the people and the worst of the people? Among the best of the people is a man who strives in the cause of Allah on the back of his horse, or on the back of his camel, or on his own two feet, until death comes to him. And among the worst of the people, is an immoral man (Fajir) who reads the Book of Allah but he does not refrain from doing anything bad because of it.'" – Sound

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَامَ عَامَ تَبُوكَ خَطَبَ النَّاسَ وَهُوَ مُضِيفٌ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَى نَخْلَةٍ فَقَالَ «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ النَّاسِ وَشَرِّ النَّاسِ؟ إِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ النَّاسِ رَجُلٌ عَمِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَلَى ظَهْرِ فَرَسِهِ أَوْ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَعِيرِهِ أَوْ عَلَى قَدَمَيْهِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمَوْتُ وَإِنَّ مِنْ شَرِّ النَّاسِ رَجُلٌ فَاجِرٌ جَرِيءٌ يَقْرَأُ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ لَا يَرْعَوِي إِلَى شَيْءٍ مِنْهُ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

"Narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'A day in the way of Allah is better than a thousand days in what is other than it, so let everyone look to himself.'" – Sound Chain per Bukhārī

أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَلِيمٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْمُوَجِّهِ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدَانُ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْنٍ الْغِفَارِيُّ أَبُو مَعْنٍ ثنا زُهْرَةُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ بِمِنًى

وَحَدَّثَنَا أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَوْمٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ يَوْمٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ فَلْيَنْظُرْ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ لِنَفْسِهِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الْبُخَارِيِّ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري – على شرط البخاري

A man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ passed by ravine containing a small spring of thirst quenching water, so he was amazed by how pleasant it was. So he said: 'I should leave the people and stay in this ravine. But I will not do it until I seek permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' So he mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said: 'Do not do so. For indeed one of you standing in the cause of Allah is more virtuous that his Salat in his house for seventy years. Do you not love that Allah forgive your sins and admit you into Paradise ? Then fight in the cause of Allah, for whoever fights in Allah's cause for the time it takes for two milkings of a camel, then Paradise is obligatory for him.'" – Sound Chain per Muslim

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَرَّ بِشِعْبٍ فِيهِ عُيَيْنَةُ مِنْ مَاءٍ عَذْبٍ فَأَعْجَبَهُ طِيبُهُ وَحُسْنُهُ فَقَالَ لَوِ اعْتَزَلْتُ النَّاسَ وَأَقَمْتُ فِي هَذَا الشِّعْبِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَا أَفْعَلُ حَتَّى أَسْتَأْمِرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «لَا تَفْعَلْ فَإِنَّ مَقَامَ أَحَدِكُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ فِي أَهْلِهِ سِتِّينَ عَامًا أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَيُدْخِلَكُمُ الْجَنَّةَ اغْزُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ مَنْ قَاتَلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فُوَاقَ نَاقَةٍ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط مسلم – على شرط مسلم

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The position of a man in a row in the way of Allah is better in the sight of Allah than the worship of a man for sixty years." – Sound Chain per Bukhārī

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنَزِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَقَامُ الرَّجُلِ فِي الصَّفِّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَفْضَلُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ عُبَادَةِ رَجُلٍ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الْبُخَارِيِّ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري – على شرط البخاري

We were sitting with a group of companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and we said, "If only we knew which actions are most beloved to Allah, we would do them." So Allah, the Mighty and Wise, revealed {Glorify Allah, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise} until the end of the Surah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it to us. This is what Al-Awza'i said, and Yahya ibn Abi Kathir recited it to us in Makkah. Muhammad ibn Kathir also recited it to us, and Al-Awza'i recited it to us. This is what Abu al-Walid said, and Ibn Kathir recited it to us. This is what Abu al-Hasan ibn 'Uqbah said, and Abu al-Walid recited it to us.

قَعَدْنَا نَفَرٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقُلْنَا «لَوْ نَعْلَمُ أَيَّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَمِلْنَاهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ ﷻ {سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمُ} » إِلَى آخِرِ السُّورَةِ «فَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ» هَكَذَا قَالَ الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ وَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ بِمَكَّةَ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ وَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ هَكَذَا قَالَ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ وَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْنَا ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ هَكَذَا قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ وَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ هَكَذَا قَالَ الْحَاكِمُ «وَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ هَكَذَا» وَقَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا الْحَاكِمُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ «السُّورَةَ مِنْ أَوَّلِهَا إِلَى آخِرِهَا» رَوَاهُ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ مِنْ أَوَّلِ الْإِسْنَادِ إِلَى آخِرِهِ

We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ , so we said, "If only we knew which actions are most beloved to Allah." Then he mentioned the hadith in a similar manner.

أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنَزِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا قُعُودًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقُلْنَا لَوْ نَعْلَمُ أَيَّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِنَحْوِهِ «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» وَأَكْبَرُ ظَنِّي أَنَّ الَّذِي حَمَلَهُمَا عَلَى تَرْكِهِ رِوَايَةُ الْهِقْلُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ بِخِلَافِ رِوَايَةِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ وَغَيْرِهِ

"We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and we said, 'If only we knew which deeds are most beloved to Allah.' So the Prophet mentioned the Hadith, and this narration is not from the Hadith of Al-Walid ibn Muslim, for Al-Hiqal ibn Ziyad, even though he was trustworthy and reliable, he had doubts about its authenticity. And from the evidence indicating the authenticity of the chain of narration of Abu Salamah is that Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Muhammad Al-Fazari, the memorizer of the companions of Al-Awza'i, narrated it with an additional wording in the first chain according to the conditions of Bukhari and Muslim." – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

"We gathered and discussed which one of us would go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and ask him about the most beloved actions to Allah. Then we separated, and we decided that one of us would go to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a messenger to us and we gathered. He recited to us the verse, 'Glorify Allah, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth' until the end of the Surah. Abu Salamah recited it to us from the beginning to the end. Yahya ibn Abi Kathir recited it to us from the beginning to the end. Abu Is-haq recited it to us from the beginning to the end, meaning the Surah of As-Saff."

اجْتَمَعْنَا فَتَذَاكَرْنَا أَيُّكُمْ يَأْتِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَيَسْأَلُهُ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ؟ ثُمَّ تَفَرَّقْنَا وَهِبْنَا أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُ أَحَدٌ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَجَمَعَنَا فَجَعَلَ يُومِي بَعْضُنَا إِلَى بَعْضٍ «فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا {سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ} » إِلَى أخِرِ السُّورَةِ قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ فَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ إِلَى آخِرِهَا قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ وَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ مِنْ أَوَّلِهَا إِلَى آخِرِهَا قَالَ مَحْبُوبٌ وَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ مِنْ أَوَّلِهَا إِلَى آخِرِهَا يَعْنِي سُورَةَ الصَّفِ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Verily, Paradise is under the shades of swords.'" So a young man who appeared disheveled asked, "Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" He replied, "Yes," and broke the blade of his sword with him, then he said peace be upon you to his companions and entered into battle." – Sound Chain per Muslim

حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذٍ الْعَدْلُ أَنْبَأَ هِشَامُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ السَّدُوسِيُّ أَنَّ مُوسَىَ بْنَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ وَهُوَ مَصَافِّ الْعَدُوَّ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ تَحْتَ ظِلَالِ السُّيُوفِ» فَقَالَ شَابٌّ رَثُّ الْهَيْئَةِ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَكَسَرَ جَفْنَ سَيْفِهِ مَعَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فِي الْقِتَالِ «» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط مسلم – على شرط مسلم

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ narrated, "Do you know who will be the first group from my nation to enter paradise?" Allah and His Messenger know best, I replied. The Prophet said, "The Emigrants (Muhajirun). They will come to the gate of paradise on the Day of Resurrection and seek permission to enter. The gatekeeper will ask them, 'Have you been accounted for?' They will reply, 'What will we be accounted for? Our swords were on our shoulders for the sake of Allah until we died on that path.' So, they will be granted entry and it will be said to them, 'Stay there for forty years before anyone else can enter.'" – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ قَالَ

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَتَعْلَمُ أَوَّلَ زُمْرَةٍ تَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي؟» قَالَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ فَقَالَ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ يَأْتُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلَى بَابِ الْجَنَّةِ وَيَسْتَفْتِحُونَ فَيَقُولُ لَهُمُ الْخَزَنَةُ أَوَ قَدْ حُوسِبْتُمْ فَيَقُولُونَ بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ نُحَاسَبُ وَإِنَّمَا كَانَتْ أَسْيَافُنَا عَلَى عَوَاتِقِنَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى مِتْنَا عَلَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَيُفْتَحُ لَهُمْ فَيَقِيلُونَ فِيهِ أَرْبَعِينَ عَامًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَهَا النَّاسُ «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» على شرط البخاري ومسلم – على شرط البخاري ومسلم

Abu Sa’id (Al Khudri) reported The Prophet ﷺ was asked “Which believers are most perfect in respect of faith? He replied “A man who strives in the path of Allaah with his life and property and a man who worships Allaah in a mountain valley where he protects the people from his evil.”” – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ أَيُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَكْمَلُ إِيمَانًا؟ قَالَ «الَّذِي يُجَاهِدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ وَرَجُلٌ يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ فِي شِعْبٍ مِنَ الشِّعَبِ فَقَدْ كَفَى النَّاسَ شَرَّهُ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم – على شرط البخاري ومسلم

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'I am a Za'im - and the Za'im is the guarantor - for the one who believes in me and accepts Islam, and emigrates: A house on the outskirts of Paradise and a house in the middle of Paradise. And I am a guarantor, for the one who believes in me and accepts Islam, and strives in the cause of Allah: A house on the outskirts of Paradise and a house in the middle of Paradise and a house in the highest chambers of Paradise. Whoever does that and seeks goodness wherever it is, and avoids evil wherever it is, may die wherever he wants to die.'" – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ

عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْجَنْبِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَنَا زَعِيمٌ وَالزَّعِيمُ الْحَمِيلُ لِمَنْ آمَنَ وَأَسْلَمَ وَجَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِبَيْتٍ فِي رَبَضِ الْجَنَّةِ وَبِبَيْتٍ فِي وَسَطِ الْجَنَّةِ وَأَنَا زَعِيمٌ لِمَنْ آمَنَ بِبَيْتٍ فِي وَسَطِ الْجَنَّةِ وَأَنَا زَعِيمٌ لِمَنْ آمَنَ وَأَسْلَمَ وَهَاجَرَ بِبَيْتٍ فِي رَبَضِ الْجَنَّةِ وَبِبَيْتٍ فِي وَسَطِ الْجَنَّةِ وَبِبَيْتٍ فِي أَعْلَى الْجَنَّةِ مَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَلَمْ يَدَعْ لِلْخَيْرِ مَطْلَبًا وَلَا مِنَ الشَّرِّ مَهْرَبًا يَمُوتُ حَيْثُ شَاءَ أَنْ يَمُوتَ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم – على شرط البخاري ومسلم

The Prophet ﷺ said: A section of my community will continue to fight for the right and overcome their opponents till the last of them fights with the Antichrist. – Sound Chain per Muslim

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ أَنْبَأَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ دِعَامَةَ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يُقَاتِلُونَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ ظَاهِرِينَ عَلَى مَنْ نَاوَأَهُمْ حَتَّى يُقَاتِلَ آخِرُهُمُ الْمَسِيحَ الدَّجَّالَ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط مسلم – على شرط مسلم

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Indeed, the first group to enter Paradise will be the poor among the emigrants whom Allah elevates their status through their patience when they are commanded and they listen and obey. Even if one of them has a need to be fulfilled by a ruler, it will not be fulfilled until he dies while he still has that need in his heart. Verily, on the Day of Resurrection, Allah will call for Paradise, and it will come with all its adornments and beauties, and He will say, 'Where are My servants who fought in My cause, were killed in My cause, were harmed in My cause, and strove in My cause? Enter Paradise without any reckoning or punishment!' So they will enter it without any reckoning or punishment. Then the angels will come and say, 'Our Lord, we are always praising You day and night, and sanctifying You. Who among these people is the one You have favored over us?' The Lord, glorified and exalted, will say, 'These are the ones who fought in My cause, were harmed in My cause, and entered upon them from every gate is peace. Peace be upon you, for what you have endured. And excellent is the final home.'" – Sound

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَنْبَأَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ أَبَا عُشَّانَةَ الْمَعَافِرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ ثُلَّةٍ تَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ الْفُقَرَاءُ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ الَّذِينَ تُتَّقَى بِهِمُ الْمَكَارِهُ إِذَا أُمِرُوا سَمِعُوا وَأَطَاعُوا وَإِنْ كَانَتْ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ حَاجَةٌ إِلَى السُّلْطَانِ لَمْ تُقْضَ لَهُ حَتَّى يَمُوتَ وَهِيَ فِي صَدْرِهِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يَدْعُو يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْجَنَّةَ فَتَأْتِي بِزُخْرُفِهَا وَرِيِّهَا فَيَقُولُ «أَيْنَ عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ قَاتَلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَقُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِي وَأُوذُوا فِي سَبِيلِي وَجَاهَدُوا فِي سَبِيلِي ادْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ» فَيَدْخُلُونَهَا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ وَلَا عَذَابٍ فَتَأْتِي الْمَلَائِكَةُ فَيَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا نَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ لَكَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ آثَرْتَهُمْ عَلَيْنَا؟ فَيَقُولُ الرَّبُّ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى «هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ قَاتَلُوا فِي سَبِيلِي وَأُوذُوا فِي سَبِيلِي فَتَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ مِنْ كُلِّ بَابٍ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

"Two will never be gathered together in the Fire: A Muslim who killed a disbeliever then tried his best and did not deviate. And two will never be gathered together in the lungs of a believer: Dust in the cause of Allah, and the odor of Hell. And two will never be gathered in the heart of a salve: Faith and envy." – Sound Chain per Muslim

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ أَنْبَأَ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَجْتَمِعَانِ فِي النَّارِ اجْتِمَاعًا يَضُرُّ أَحَدُهُمَا الْآخَرَ مُسْلِمٌ قَتَلَ كَافِرًا ثُمَّ سَدَّدَ الْمُسْلِمُ وَقَارَبَ وَلَا يَجْتَمِعَانِ فِي جَوْفِ عَبْدٍ غُبَارٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَدُخَانُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَا يَجْتَمِعَانِ فِي قَلْبِ عَبْدٍ الْإِيمَانُ وَالشُّحُّ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ «وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ بِإِسْنَادَيْنِ آخَرَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي اللَّجْلَاجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ على شرط مسلم – على شرط مسلم

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The dust in the cause of Allah and the smoke of Hell will never be combined in the lungs of a slave, and the stinginess and faith can never be combined in a slave's heart."

أَخْبَرَنَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُوسَى ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ أَنْبَأَ يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي اللَّجْلَاجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يَجْتَمِعُ غُبَارٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَدُخَانُ جَهَنَّمَ فِي جَوْفِ عَبْدٍ أَبَدًا وَلَا يَجْتَمِعُ شُحٌّ وَإِيمَانٌ فِي قَلْبِ عَبْدٍ أَبَدًا» وَقِيلَ عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ

“The dust (of Jihad) in the cause of Allah and the smoke of Hell will never be combined in the interior of a Muslim.”

حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحَافِظُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُكْرَمٍ بِالْبَصْرَةَ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ أَبِي اللَّجْلَاجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَجْتَمِعُ غُبَارٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَدُخَانُ جَهَنَّمَ فِي وَجْهِ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ أَبَدًا»

The Prophet ﷺ sent a military expedition, and a woman came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, you have sent this expedition, and my husband has joined it. I used to fast and perform prayer in accordance with his actions, and I worshiped Allah through his worship. Guide me to an action that can equal his actions." He said, "Continue to perform prayer, do not sit idle, fast without breaking it, and engage in remembrance without interruption." She asked, "Can I bear that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Even if you can bear it, I swear by the One in whose hand my soul is, you will not reach the level of his actions even if you do so." – Sound

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ عَنْ خَيْرِ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً فَأَتَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّكَ بَعَثْتَ هَذِهِ السَّرِيَّةَ وَإِنَّ زَوْجِي خَرَجَ فِيهَا وَقَدْ كُنْتُ أَصُومُ بِصِيَامِهِ وَأُصَلِّي بِصَلَاتِهِ وَأَتَعَبَّدُ بِعِبَادَتِهِ فَدُلَّنِي عَلَى عَمَلٍ أَبْلُغُ بِهِ عَمَلَهُ قَالَ «تُصَلِّينَ فَلَا تَقْعُدِينَ وَتَصُومِينَ فَلَا تُفْطِرِينَ وَتَذْكُرِينَ فَلَا تَفْتُرِينَ» قَالَتْ وَأُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «وَلَوْ طِقْتِ ذَلِكَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا بَلَغْتِ الْعَشِيرَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

A man said: Messenger of Allah, allow tourism for me. The Prophet ﷺ said: The tourism of my people is striving in the path of Allah, the Exalted. – Sound

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ أَنْبَأَ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ ثنا أَبُو الْجُمَاهِرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ التَّنُوخِيُّ ثنا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَنِي الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ائْذَنْ لِي فِي السِّيَاحَةِ قَالَ «إِنَّ سِيَاحَةَ أُمَّتِي الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

The Prophet ﷺ said: Returning home is like going on an expedition. – Sound Chain per Muslim

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «قَفْلَةٌ كَغَزْوَةَ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط مسلم – على شرط مسلم

Abu Umamat Al Bahili reported the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ as saying “There are three persons who are in the security of Allaah, the Exalted.” “A man who goes out on an expedition to fight in the path of Allaah, the Exalted, is in the security of Allaah, until He takes him unto Him(i.e., he dies) and brings him into Paradise or brings him(alive) with reward and booty he obtains and a man who goes to the mosque is in the security of Allaah, until he takes him unto Him(i.e., he dies), and he brings him into Paradise or brings him with reward and spoils he obtains; and a man who enters his house after giving salutation is in the security of Allaah, the Exalted.” – Sound

أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَزَّازُ بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا سِمَاكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ثنا أَبُو مُسْهِرٍ عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ الْغَسَّانِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «ثَلَاثَةٌ كُلُّهُمْ ضَامِنٌ عَلَى اللَّهِ؛ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ غَازِيًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ ضَامِنٌ عَلَى اللَّهِ حَتَّى يَتَوَفَّاهُ فَيُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يَرُدَّهُ بِمَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ وَرَجُلٌ رَاحَ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَهُوَ ضَامِنٌ عَلَى اللَّهِ حَتَّى يَتَوَفَّاهُ فَيُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يَرُدَّهُ بِمَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ وَرَجُلٍ دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ بِالسَّلَامِ فَهُوَ ضَامِنٌ عَلَى اللَّهِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, ordered a secret mission to depart. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, shall we leave tonight or wait until morning?" He said, "Don't you want to spend the night in one of the gardens of Paradise?" And the garden is autumn. – Sound Chain per Muslim

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مَالِكٍ الشَّرْعَبِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْأَغَرِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِسَرِيِّةٍ تَخْرُجُ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنَخْرُجُ اللَّيْلَةَ أَمْ حَتَّى نُصْبِحَ؟ فَقَالَ «أَوَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَنْ تَبِيتُوا فِي خَرِيفٍ مِنْ خِرَافِ الْجَنَّةِ؟» وَالْخَرِيفُ الْحَدِيقَةُ «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» على شرط مسلم – على شرط مسلم

A man came to perform the prayer, and the Prophet ﷺ was praying with us. When he finished his prayer, he said, "O Allah, give me the best of what You give to Your righteous servants." After the Prophet ﷺ finished the prayer, he said, "Who was the one speaking earlier?" The man said, "It was me, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "In that case, your mount will stumble and you will be martyred in the path of Allah." – Sound

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثنا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ ثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ عَائِذٍ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِنَا فَقَالَ حِينَ انْتَهَى إِلَى الصَّفِّ اللَّهُمَّ آتِنِي أَفْضَلَ مَا تُؤْتِي عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحِينَ فَلَمَّا قَضَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ «مَنِ الْمُتَكَلِّمُ آنِفًا؟» فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِذًا يُعْقَرُ جَوَادُكَ وَتُسْتَشْهَدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The martyrs are with a bright river at the door of Paradise, in a green dome, where their sustenance comes to them morning and evening." – Sound Chain per Muslim

أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَاضِي ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي الْحَارِثُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الشُّهَدَاءُ عَلَى بَارِقٍ نَهْرٍ بِبَابِ الْجَنَّةِ فِي قُبَّةٍ خَضْرَاءَ يَخْرُجُ عَلَيْهِمْ رِزْقُهُمْ بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُعلى شرط مسلم – على شرط مسلم

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You should engage in jihad for the sake of Allah, as it is a door among the doors of Paradise, through which Allah relieves anxiety and sorrow." Others added to it, "And strive in the cause of Allah, whether it is near or far, and establish the limits of Allah, both near and far, and do not let the blame of those who blame you in the way of Allah affect you." – Sound

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْجِهَادِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهُ بَابٌ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ يُذْهِبُ اللَّهُ بِهِ الْهَمَّ وَالْغَمَّ» وَزَادَ فِيهِ غَيْرُهُ «وَجَاهِدُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ الْقَرِيبَ وَالْبَعِيدَ وَأَقِيمُوا حُدُودَ اللَّهِ فِي الْقَرِيبِ وَالْبَعِيدِ وَلَا تَأْخُذْكُمْ فِي اللَّهِ لَوْمَةُ لَائِمٍ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan al-Qāriʾ > ʿAlī b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz > Ḥajjāj b. al-Minhāl > Ḥammād b. Salamah > Thābit > Anas

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man from the people of Paradise will be brought forward and Allah will say to him, 'O son of Adam, how did you find your dwelling place?' The man will say, 'O Lord, it is the best dwelling place.' Allah will say, 'Ask and wish for more.' The man will say, 'I ask You to return me to the world so that I may be killed in Your cause ten times for what I have seen of the virtue of martyrdom.' He said, 'Then a man from the people of Hellfire will be brought forward and Allah will say to him, 'O son of Adam, how did you find your dwelling place?' The man will say, 'O Lord, it is the worst dwelling place.' Allah will say, 'Did you not seek deliverance from it by any means possible, even if it was by giving away the entire world?' The man will say, 'Yes.' Allah will say, 'You lied. I asked you for something less significant than that, and you did not do it.' – Sound Chain per Muslim

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَارِئُ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُؤْتَى بِالرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ لَهُ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ كَيْفَ وَجَدْتَ مَنْزِلَكَ؟ فَيَقُولُ أَيْ رَبِّ خَيْرَ مَنْزِلٍ فَيَقُولُ سَلْ وَتَمَنَّ فَيَقُولُ مَا أَسْأَلُكَ وَأَتَمَنَّى؟ أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَرُدَّنِيَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا فَأُقْتَلَ فِي سَبِيلِكِ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ لِمَا رَأَى مِنْ فَضْلِ الشَّهَادَةِ قَالَ وَيُؤْتَى بِالرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ كَيْفَ وَجَدْتَ مَنْزِلَكَ؟ فَيَقُولُ أَيْ رَبِّ شَرَّ مَنْزِلٍ فَيَقُولُ الرَّبُّ ﷻ فَتَفْتَدِي مِنْهُ بِطِلَاعِ الْأَرْضِ ذَهَبًا؟ فَيَقُولُ نَعَمْ فَيَقُولُ «كَذَبْتَ قَدْ سَأَلْتُكَ دُونَ ذَلِكَ فَلَمْ تَفْعَلْ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَبِهَذِهِ السِّيَاقَةَ على شرط مسلم – على شرط مسلم
