(17) – In the prohibition of making wine vinegar
Sunan ad-Darimi 2161
ʿUbaydullāh b. Mūsá > Isrāʾīl > al-Suddī > Yaḥyá b. ʿAbbād > Anas b. Mālik
"In the room of Abu Talha, there were orphans, so he bought wine for them. When the prohibition of wine was revealed, he came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that to him. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Turn it into vinegar.' Abu Talha replied, 'No,' so he poured it out." – Good Chain
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبَّادٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ
كَانَ فِي حِجْرِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ يَتَامَى فَاشْتَرَى لَهُمْ خَمْرًا فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ «أَجْعَلُهُ خَلًّا» قَالَ لَا فَأَهْرَاقَهُ – إسناده حسن
