On the authority of Thawban, the servant of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever asks the people for something while he himself is wealthy, it will be a stain on his face." – Sound Chain

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ هُوَ ابْنُ زُرَيْعٍ أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ

عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ سَأَلَ النَّاسَ مَسْأَلَةً وَهُوَ عَنْهَا غَنِيٌّ كَانَتْ شَيْنًا فِي وَجْهِهِ» – إسناده صحيح
