The rotation in the Adhan

بَابُ الْاسْتِدَارَةِ فِي الْأَذَانِ

Sunan ad-Darimi, Book of Ṣalāh(view book)

Muḥammad b. Yūsuf > Sufyān > ʿAwn b. Abū Juḥayfah from his father > Raʾá Bilāl Adhhan

"Thus, I made it a habit to follow his mouth movements here and there with the adhan." – Sound Chain

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ رَأَى بِلَالًا أَذَّنَ قَالَ

«فَجَعَلْتُ أَتْبَعُ فَاهُ هَاهُنَا وَهَاهُنَا بِالْأَذَانِ» – إسناده صحيح

That Bilal saw a gazelle and then he called for prayer and placed his fingers in his ears, and I saw him turn his fingers in his ears. Abdullah said: This is the Hadith of Thawri and it is the most authentic. – Weak Chain

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادٌ عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ بِلَالًا «رَكَزَ الْعَنَزَةَ ثُمَّ أَذَّنَ وَوَضَعَ أُصْبُعَيْهِ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَدُورُ فِي أَذَانِهِ» قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدِيثُ الثَّوْرِيِّ أَصَحُّ – إسناده ضعيف
