"Her husband divorced her three times, so the Prophet ﷺ did not provide her with maintenance or accommodation. Salama said that he mentioned this to Ibrahim, who said, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab said: We do not abandon the book of our Lord and the Sunnah of His Prophet based on the words of a woman, so he provided her with accommodation and maintenance.'" – Sound

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ

أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا طَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثًا «فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ نَفَقَةً وَلَا سُكْنَى» قَالَ سَلَمَةُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ لَا نَدَعُ كِتَابَ رَبِّنَا وَسُنَّةَ نَبِيِّهِ بِقَوْلِ امْرَأَةٍ فَجَعَلَ لَهَا السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةَ – صحيح

Yaʿlá > Zakariyyā > ʿĀmir > Fāṭimah b. Qays

"That her husband divorced her three times, so the Prophet ﷺ ordered her to observe 'iddah (waiting period) at the house of her cousin, the son of her maternal aunt, Ibn Umm Maktum." – Sound Chain

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَتْنِي فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ

«أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا طَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَأَمَرَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ تَعْتَدَّ عِنْدَ ابْنِ عَمِّهَا ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» – إسناده صحيح

Muḥammad b. al-ʿAlāʾ > Ḥafṣ b. Ghiyāth > al-Ashʿath > al-Ḥakam And Ḥammād > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswad > ʿUmar

"We do not invalidate our scriptures and the practices of our Prophet by the statement of a divorced woman, who is granted housing and financial support." – Sound

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ الْأَشْعَثِ عَنْ الْحَكَمِ وَحَمَّادٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ

«لَا نَدَعُ كِتَابَ رَبِّنَا وَسُنَّةَ نَبِيِّهِ بِقَوْلِ امْرَأَةٍ الْمُطَلَّقَةُ ثَلَاثًا لَهَا السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةُ» – صحيح

Ṭalq b. Ghannām > Ḥafṣ b. Ghiyāth > al-Aʿmash > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswad

The above mentioned tradition has also been transmitted by Ma’mar through a different chain of narrators to the same effect. – Sound Chain
