Jabir b. Samurah said:

The prayer offered by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was moderate, and the sermon given by him was (also) moderate. He would recite a few verses from the Qur'an and exhort the people.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكٌ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ كَانَتْ صَلاَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَصْدًا وَخُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا يَقْرَأُ آيَاتٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ وَيُذَكِّرُ النَّاسَ .
