Muḥammad b. Rāfiʿ And al-Ḥasan b. Muḥammad > Sulaymān b. Dāwud > Ibrāhīm > Ibn Saʿd from his father > Abū Salamah > Abū Hurayrah

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "There were people among the nations that came before you who would receive divine revelations. If there is anyone among my nation who receives such revelations, it would be Umar ibn Al-Khattab."

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ هُوَ ابْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «قَدْ كَانَ فِيمَا خَلَا قِبَلَكُمْ مِنَ الْأُمَمِ نَاسٌ يُحَدِّثُونَ فَإِنْ يَكُنْ فِي أُمَّتِي هَذِهِ أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ فَعُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ»
