Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm > Abū Dāwud al-Ḥafrī ʿUmar b. Saʿd > Sufyān > Abū al-Zinād > ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-Aʿraj > Abū Salamah > Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "A man was driving a cow and wanted to ride it. The cow said, 'We were not created for this purpose. We were created to be plowed on.' Those around him said, 'Glory be to Allah, glory be to Allah.' The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, 'I and Abu Bakr and Umar have believed in it, and others are to come.'" "While a man was with his sheep, a wolf came and took one sheep. The shepherd followed it to take it back. The wolf said, 'How will you do on the Day of Seveah (Judgment Day), when there is no shepherd for them except me?' Those around him said, 'Glory be to Allah, glory be to Allah.' He said, 'I and Abu Bakr and Umar have believed in it, and others are to come.'"

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَفْرِيُّ عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَسُوقُ بَقَرَةً فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَبَهَا» فَقَالَتْ إِنَّا لَمْ نُخْلَقْ لِهَذَا إِنَّمَا خُلِقْنَا لِيُحْرَثَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ مَنْ حَوْلَهُ «سُبْحَانَ اللهِ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ» قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «آمَنْتُ بِهِ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَمَا هُمَا ثَمَّ» قَالَ «وَبَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ فِي غَنَمٍ لَهُ فَجَاءَ الذِّئْبُ فَأَخَذَ شَاةً مِنْهَا فَتَبِعَهَا الرَّاعِي لِيَأْخُذَهَا» فَقَالَ الذِّئْبُ فَكَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ يَوْمَ السِّبَاعِ يَوْمَ لَا رَاعِيَ لَهَا غَيْرِي؟ فَقَالَ مَنْ حَوْلَهُ «سُبْحَانَ اللهِ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ» فَقَالَ «آمَنْتُ بِهِ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَمَا هُمَا ثَمَّ»
