ʿAmr b. ʿAlī > Yaḥyá > Sufyān > Mūsá b. Abū ʿĀʾishah > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh > ʿĀʾishah

We poured medicine into the mouth of the Prophet ﷺ during his ailment. He said, "Don't pour medicine into my mouth." (We thought he said that) out of the aversion a patient usually has for medicines. When he improved and felt better he said, "There is none of you but will be forced to drink medicine, except Al-ʿAbbas, for he did not witness your deed."

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

لَدَدْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي مَرَضِهِ فَقَالَ «لَا تَلُدُّونِي» قُلْنَا كَرَاهِيَةُ الْمَرِيضِ لِلدَّوَاءِ فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ قَالَ «لَا يَبْقَى أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا لُدَّ غَيْرَ الْعَبَّاسِ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَشْهَدْكُمْ»
