ʿUbaydullāh b. Saʿīd > Abū ʿĀmir > Qurrah b. Khālid > Muḥammad b. Sīrīn

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon on the day of sacrifice, saying, "Verily, your blood and your wealth are sacred among you, just as this day of yours is sacred in this month of yours, in this land of yours, until the day you meet your Lord. Behold, have I conveyed (the message)?" They replied, "Yes." He said, "O Allah, bear witness. Let the one who is present convey (the message) to the one who is absent, for perhaps the one who receives the message will better comprehend it than the one who hears it." This is a summary.

أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ وَرَجُلٌ فِي نَفْسِي أَفْضَلُ مِنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ فَقَالَ

خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ قَالَ «إِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ بَيْنَكُمْ حَرَامٌ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا إِلَى يَوْمِ تَلْقَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ أَلَا هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ؟» قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اشْهَدْ يُبَلِّغُ الشَّاهِدُ مِنْكُمُ الْغَائِبَ فَرُبَّ مُبَلَّغٍ أَوْعَى مِنْ سَامِعٍ» مُخْتَصَرٌ
