Hilāl b. Bishr > Marḥūm > Abū Naʿāmah al-Saʿdī > Abū ʿUthmān al-Nahdī > Abū Mūsá al-Ashʿarī

“We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military expedition. When we returned, we overlooked Al-Madinah, and the people were pronouncing the Takbir, and they raised their voices with it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Verily, your Lord is not deaf nor absent, [and] He is between you and between the heads of your mounts.’ Then he said: ‘O ʿAbdullah bin Qais, should I not inform you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise: Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh (There is no might or power except by Allah).’”

أَخْبَرَنَا هِلَالُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْحُومٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَعَامَةَ السَّعْدِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةٍ فَلَمَّا قَفَلْنَا أَشْرَفْنَا عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَكَبَّرَ النَّاسُ تَكْبِيرَةً رَفَعُوا بِهَا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَيْسَ بِأَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبَ فَهُوَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ رُءُوسِ رَوَاحِلِكُمْ» فَقَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ
