(137) – مَا يَقُولُ إِذَا انْتَهَى إِلَى قَوْمٍ فَجَلَسَ إِلَيْهِمْ
(137) – What to say when you come to a group and sit with them

Aḥmad b. Sulaymān And ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Muḥammad b. Salām > Yazīd > Hishām > Muḥammad > ʿAbd al-Raḥman Lays Ibn Sīrīn > a man > Abū Hurayrah
The Prophet ﷺ said: When one of you comes to an assembly, he should give a salutation and if he feels inclined to get up, he should give a salutation, for the former is not more of a duty than the latter.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ لَيْسَ ابْنَ سِيرِينَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْقَوْمِ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ وَإِذَا قَامَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ فَلَيْسَتِ الْأُولَى بِأَحَقَّ مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ»
