Qutaybah > Mālik > Rabīʿah > Anas > Samiʿah
He heard him say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was neither tall and lanky, nor short and stout, neither very fair-skinned nor very dark-skinned, and he did not have curly hair like a cat's fur, nor was it straight.
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ بِالطَّوِيلِ الْبَائِنِ وَلَا بِالْقَصِيرِ وَلَا بِالْأَبْيَضِ الْأَمْهَقِ وَلَا بِالْآدَمِ وَلَيْسَ بِالْجَعْدِ الْقَطَطِ وَلَا بِالسَّبْطِ مُخْتَصَرٌ

"The hair of the Prophet [SAW] was wavy, neither curly nor straight, and (hung down) between his ears and his shoulders."
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ
«كَانَ شَعْرُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ شَعْرًا رَجُلًا لَيْسَ بِالْجَعْدِ وَلَا بِالسَّبْطِ بَيْنَ أُذُنَيْهِ وَعَاتِقَيْهِ»
