If He Gives His Favor to Others
إِذَا أَعْطَى فَضْلَهُ غَيْرَهُ

Sunan an-Nasa'i al-Kubra 7595
ʿUbaydullāh b. Saʿd b. Ibrāhīm from my uncle from my father > Ṣāliḥ > Ibn Shihāb > Ḥamzah b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar
I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "While I was sleeping, I was given a bowl full of milk (in a dream), and I drank of it to my fill until I noticed its wetness coming out of my nails, and then I gave the rest of it to ʿUmar." They (the people) asked, "What have you interpreted (about the dream)? O Allah's Apostle?" He said, "(It is Religious) knowledge."
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحٍ لِي فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَرَى الرِّيَّ يَجْرِي بَيْنَ أَظْفَارِي فَأَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ» قَالَ مَنْ حَوْلَهُ مَا أَوَّلْتَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «الْعِلْمُ»
