Section 10

ʿAlī b. Ḥujr > Ismāʿīl > ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār > Ibn ʿUmar

The Prophet ﷺ said, "No deal is settled and finalized unless the buyer and the seller separate, except if the deal is optional (whereby the validity of the bargain depends on the stipulations agreed upon).

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «كُلُّ بَيِّعَيْنِ لَا بَيْعَ بَيْنَهُمَا حَتَّى يَتَفَرَّقَا إِلَّا بَيْعَ الْخِيَارِ»

Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbd al-Ḥakam > Shuʿayb > al-Layth > Ibn al-Hād > ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar

"When two people meet to engage in trade, the transaction between them is not binding until they separate, unless they have chosen to conclude the transaction."

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ عَنِ اللَّيْثِ عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «كُلُّ بَيِّعَيْنِ فَلَا بَيْعَ بَيْنَهُمَا حَتَّى يَتَفَرَّقَا إِلَّا بَيْعَ الْخِيَارِ»

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «كُلُّ بَيِّعَيْنِ لَا بَيْعَ بَيْنَهُمَا حَتَّى يَتَفَرَّقَا إِلَّا بَيْعَ الْخِيَارِ»

ʿAmr b. Yazīd > Bahz b. Asad > Shuʿbah > ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār > Ibn ʿUmar

There is no transaction between two persons entering a transaction until they separate, but only when there is an option to annul it.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ أَسَدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «كُلُّ بَيِّعَيْنِ فَلَا بَيْعَ بَيْنَهُمَا حَتَّى يَتَفَرَّقَا إِلَّا بَيْعَ الْخِيَارِ»

al-Rabīʿ b. Sulaymān b. Dāwud > Isḥāq b. Bakr from my father > Yazīd b. ʿAbdullāh > ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar

أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «كُلُّ بَيِّعَيْنِ فَلَا بَيْعَ بَيْنَهُمَا حَتَّى يَتَفَرَّقَا إِلَّا بَيْعَ الْخِيَارِ»

Qutaybah b. Saʿīd > Sufyān > ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār > Ibn ʿUmar

"Two traders have the choice as long as they have not separated, or, they have chosen to conclude the transaction."

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْبَيِّعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ مَا لَمْ يَتَفَرَّقَا أَوْ يَكُونَ بَيْعُهُمَا عَنْ خِيَارٍ»

ʿAmr b. ʿAlī > Muʿādh b. Hishām from my father > Qatādah > al-Ḥasan > Samurah > Nabī Allāh ﷺ

"Two trades have the choice as long as until they reach a deal that suits both of them and they confirm it three times. "

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ

«الْبَيِّعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ حَتَّى يَتَفَرَّقَا أَوْ يَأْخُذَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا مِنَ الْبَيْعِ مَا هَوِيَ وَيَتَخَايَرَانِ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ»
