Mix of dates and arrogance

Wāṣil b. ʿAbd al-Aʿlá > Ibn Fuḍayl > Ḥabīb b. Abū ʿAmrah > Saʿīd b. Jubayr > Ibn ʿAbbās

Ibn Abbas reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade, the preparation of Nabidh in gourd, in varnished jar, hollow stump and from mixing up ripe dates with nearly ripe dates.

أَخْبَرَنَا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

«نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَأَنْ يُخْلَطَ الْبَلَحُ بِالزَّهْوِ»
