Muwatta Imam Malik Book of General Subjects, Hadith 11

Malik related to me from Abdullah ibn Dinar from Abdullah ibn Umar that a man called the Messenger of Allah and said, "Messenger of Allah, what do you think about lizards?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I do not eat them, and I do not forbid them."

وَحَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، نَادَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا تَرَى فِي الضَّبِّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ " لَسْتُ بِآكِلِهِ وَلاَ بِمُحَرِّمِهِ " .
