Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ṣaffār > Ismāʿīl b. Isḥāq al-Qāḍī > Sulaymān b. Ḥarb > Ḥammād b. Zayd > Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Abū Umāmah b. Sahl b. Ḥunayf > ʿUthmān b. ʿAffān Ashraf Yawm al-Dār > Anshudukum Bi-al-Lah Taʿālá Taʿlamūn

"The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: It is not permissible to shed the blood of a Muslim except in three cases: the married person who commits adultery, the one who reverts from Islam after accepting it, and the one who kills a person without any right. By Allah, I have never committed adultery in the pre-Islamic period or after accepting Islam, nor have I ever apostatized since I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, nor have I ever killed a person whom Allah has forbidden killing. Why then would you kill me?" – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الصَّفَّارُ ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقَاضِي ثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ أَشْرَفَ يَوْمَ الدَّارِ فَقَالَ أَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ تَعَالَى تَعْلَمُونَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَحِلُّ دَمُ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ إِلَّا بِإِحْدَى ثَلَاثٍ زِنًا بَعْدَ إِحْصَانٍ أَوِ ارْتِدَادٍ بَعْدَ إِسْلَامٍ أَوْ قَتْلَ نَفْسٍ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ يَقْتُلُ بِهِ «فَوَاللَّهِ مَا زَنَيْتُ فِي جَاهِلِيَّةٍ وَلَا إِسْلَامٍ وَلَا ارْتَدَدْتُ مُنْذُ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَلَا قَتَلْتُ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ فَبِمَ تَقْتُلُونِي» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم – على شرط البخاري ومسلم
