Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri was given permission to attend a funeral in his tribe, so he went while the people had already taken their seats. When they saw him, they made room for him, and he sat in a corner and said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The best of gatherings are the most spacious.'"

حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذٍ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ثَنَا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَوَالِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ

أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ أُوذِنَ بِجِنَازَةٍ فِي قَوْمِهِ فَجَاءَ وَقَدْ أَخَذَ النَّاسُ مَجَالِسَهُمْ فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ نَشَزُوا إِلَيْهِ فَجَلَسَ فِي نَاحِيَةٍ وَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «خَيْرُ الْمَجَالِسِ أَوْسَعُهَا» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الْبُخَارِيِّ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص
