The Prophet ﷺ said, "When a person sneezes, they should say, 'Alhamdulillah' (Praise be to Allah) for every situation. And the person who hears them sneeze should say, 'Yarhamuk Allah' (May Allah have mercy on you). The person sneezing should then respond by saying, 'Yahdikum Allah wa Yuslih balakum' (May Allah guide you and rectify your affairs)." This statement is attributed to Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, the jurist and judge from the Ansar. May Allah, the Most High, have mercy on him. If it were not for the clarification of these statements, the scholars of Hadith would not have attributed forgetfulness to the transmitters and explained what I have mentioned."
