"I was blessed with a son, and I was with the Prophet ﷺ. I said, 'I wish to give you his place as a loaf of bread and meat.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'If you say that, surely they will be stingy and disappointed, but they are the fruits of hearts and the delight of the eyes.'" – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ

وُلِدَ لِي غُلَامٌ فَبُشِّرْتُ بِهِ وَأَنَا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ وَدِدْتُ لَكُمْ مَكَانَهُ قَصْعَةً مِنْ خُبْزٍ وَلَحْمٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنْ قُلْتَ ذَاكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَمَبْخَلَةٌ مَجْبَنَةٌ مَحْزَنَةٌ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَثَمَرَةُ الْقُلُوبِ وَقُرَّةُ الْعَيْنِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم – على شرط البخاري ومسلم
