Mustadrak al-Hakim 7534

Saʾal a man ʿAlī > al-Baqarah > Sabʿah > Maksūrah al-Qarn > Lā Baʾs > al-ʿArjāʾ > Idhā Balaghat al-Mansak

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to check the eyes and ears [when selecting an animal for sacrifice]

أَمَّا حَدِيثُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ عَلِيًّا عَنِ الْبَقَرَةِ قَالَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ فَقَالَ مَكْسُورَةُ الْقَرْنِ؟ قَالَ لَا بَأْسَ قَالَ الْعَرْجَاءُ؟ قَالَ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْمَنْسَكَ

وَقَالَ «أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَسْتَشْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالْأُذُنَ»
