Abū Bakr b. Isḥāq al-Faqīh > Mūsá b. Isḥāq al-Qāḍī > Abū Bakr And ʿUthmān Āb.ā Abū Shaybah > Jarīr > Manṣūr > Saʿīd b. Jubayr

Abu Bakr and Uthman, the sons of Abu Shaybah, narrated that Jarir reported from Mansour, who reported from Sa'id ibn Jubair, who reported from Ibn Abbas regarding the saying of Allah, 'Verily, We have sent it down in the Night of Power.' (Quran 97:1) He said, "The Quran was revealed as a whole in one night of the Night of Power to the lower heaven, in the position of the stars. And Allah would reveal it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ part by part in succession." He also said, "They said, 'Why was the Quran not sent down to him all at once? Thus, we would strengthen your heart thereby. And We have revealed it to you in gradual stages.'" (Quran 25:32) – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقَاضِي

ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُثْمَانُ ابْنَا أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى {إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ} [القدر 1] قَالَ أُنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنُ جُمْلَةً وَاحِدَةً فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا وَكَانَ بِمَوْقِعِ النُّجُومِ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ يُنَزِّلُهُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعْضَهُ فِي أَثَرِ بَعْضٍ قَالَ وَقَالُوا {لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ الْقُرْآنُ جُمْلَةً وَاحِدَةً كَذَلِكَ لِنُثَبِّتَ بِهِ فُؤَادَكَ وَرَتَّلْنَاهُ تَرْتِيلًا} [الفرقان 32] «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِهِمَا وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» على شرط البخاري ومسلم – على شرط البخاري ومسلم
