ʿUthmān b. Saʿīd al-Dārimī Biharāh And ʿUbayd b. ʿAbd al-Wāḥid b. Sharīk> Abū al-Jumāhir Muḥammad b. ʿUthmān al-Tanūkhī > Saʿīd b. Bashīr > Qatādah > ʿAlī al-Nājī > Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī

From the Prophet is reported to have said, "Their example is like that of a man who shoots an arrow and then goes to seek it where it fell, he takes it and looks above it but sees no fat or blood on it. Then he looks at the feathers of the arrow but finds no fat or blood on them. He then looks at the tip of the arrow but finds no fat or blood on it, just as nothing of the fat and blood is attached to it. Likewise, these people have no connection to anything of Islam." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about this in his summary. – Remains Silent

أَخْبَرَنِيهِ أَبُو النَّضْرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْفَقِيهُ بِالطَّابِرَانِ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ بِهَرَاةَ وَعُبَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ بِبَغْدَادَ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْجُمَاهِرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ التَّنُوخِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ النَّاجِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَثَلُهُمْ مَثَلُ رَجُلٍ يَرْمِي رَمْيَةً فَيَتَوَخَّى السَّهْمَ حَيْثُ وَقَعَ فَأَخَذَهُ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى فَوْقِهِ فَلَمْ يَرَ بِهِ دَسَمًا وَلَا دَمًا ثُمَّ نَظَرَ إِلَى رِيشِهِ فَلَمْ يَرَ بِهِ دَسَمًا وَلَا دَمًا ثُمَّ نَظَرَ إِلَى نَصْلِهِ فَلَمْ يَرَ بِهِ دَسَمًا وَلَا دَمًا كَمَا لَمْ يَتَعَلَّقْ بِهِ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الدَّسَمِ وَالدَّمِ كَذَلِكَ لَمْ يَتَعَلَّقْ هَؤُلَاءِ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص – سكت عنه
