Abū ʿAbdullāh Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh al-Zāhid > al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī b. Baḥr al-Burrī from my father > Hishām b. Yūsuf al-Ṣanʿānī > Maʿmar > Qatādah > Anas

The Prophet ﷺ said, "There will be disputes and divisions in my nation, and there will come a people who will please you and be pleased with themselves. They will appear to be more devoted to God than others, but they are not truly from God. They will speak eloquently but their actions will be evil. They will call people to God, yet they are not in any way connected with God. When you encounter them, kill them." The companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah, describe them to us." He replied, "They will have shaved heads and will remove hair from their bodies" which means they will shave their pubic hair. – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزَّاهِدُ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بَحْرٍ الْبُرِّيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «سَيَكُونُ فِي أُمَّتِي اخْتِلَافٌ وَفُرْقَةٌ وَسَيَجِيءُ قَوْمٌ يُعْجِبُونَكُمْ وَتُعْجِبُهُمْ أَنْفُسُهُمْ الَّذِينَ يَقْتُلُونَهُمْ أَوْلَى بِاللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ يُحْسِنُونَ الْقِيلَ وَيُسِيئُونَ الْفِعْلَ وَيَدْعُونَ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَلَيْسُوا مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي شَيْءٍ فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فَأَنِيمُوهُمْ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ انْعَتْهُمْ لَنَا قَالَ «آيَتُهُمُ الْحَلْقُ وَالتَّسْبِيتُ» يَعْنِي اسْتِئْصَالَ التَّقْصِيرِ قَالَ وَالتَّسْبِيتُ اسْتِئْصَالُ الشَّعْرِ «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» وَقَدْ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ «وَهُوَ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» على شرط البخاري ومسلم – على شرط البخاري ومسلم
