Mustadrak al-Hakim 1619

ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ḥusayn al-Qāḍī Bimarw > al-Ḥārith b. Abū Usāmah > Rawḥ b. ʿUbādah > Ibn Jurayj > Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad from his father > Jābir

People complained to the Prophet ﷺ about the long distance they had to walk, so he called them and said: "You should embrace walking." We then started walking and found it easier than we thought.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَاضِي بِمَرْوَ ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ثنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

شَكَا نَاسٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْمَشْيَ فَدَعَا بِهِمْ فَقَالَ «عَلَيْكُمْ بِالنَّسَلَانِ» فَنَسَلْنَا فَوَجَدْنَاهُ أَخَفَّ عَلَيْنَا «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ»
