I sought permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and then I entered upon him in a small room. And he was lying on a bed made of palm leaves, with some of it touching the ground and a pillow filled with palm fibers under his head. Above his head was a low-hanging curtain. On the side of the room, there was a glass of water. I greeted him and then sat down. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, you are the Prophet of Allah, His chosen one, and the best of His creation. The thrones of Kisra and Caesar are nothing compared to your golden beds and silk carpets." He said, "O Umar, those people have been given their goodness quickly, and it is about to be cut off. As for us, we have been delayed, and our goodness is in the hereafter." – Sound Chain per Muslim

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَهْبِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ

اسْتَأْذَنْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فِي مَشْرُبَةٍ وَإِنَّهُ لَمُضْطَجِعٌ عَلَى خَصَفَةٍ وَأَنَّ بَعْضهُ لَعَلَى التُّرَابِ وَتَحْتَ رَأْسِهِ وِسَادَةٌ مَحْشُوَّةٌ لِيفًا وَأَنَّ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِ لَأَهَابٌ عَطِينٌ وَفِي نَاحِيَةِ الْمَشْرُبَةِ قَرَظٌ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ جَلَسْتُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنْتَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ وَصَفْوَتُهُ وَخِيرَتُهُ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ وَكِسْرَى وَقَيْصَرُ عَلَى سُرُرِ الذَّهَبِ وَفُرُشِ الْحَرِيرِ وَالدِّيبَاجِ فَقَالَ «يَا عُمَرُ إِنَّ أُولَئِكَ قَدْ عُجِّلَتْ لَهُمْ طَيِّبَاتُهُمْ وَهِيَ وَشِيكَةُ الِانْقِطَاعِ وَإِنَّا قَوْمٌ قَدْ أُخِّرَتْ لَنَا طَيِّبَاتُنَا فِي آخِرَتِنَا» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط مسلم – على شرط مسلم

"Whoever eats the Tayyib and acts in accordance with the Sunnah, and the people are safe from his harm, he will enter Paradise." So a man said: "O Messenger of Allah! This is the case with many people today." So he said: "It shall be so in the generation after me." – Sound

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمَحْبُوبِيُّ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى أَنْبَأَ إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ هِلَالٍ الْوَزَّانِ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَكَلَ طَيِّبًا وَعَمِلَ فِي سُنَّةٍ وَأَمِنَ النَّاسُ بَوَائِقَهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ هَذَا فِي أُمَّتِكَ الْيَوْمَ كَثِيرٌ قَالَ «وَسَيَكُونُ فِي قُرُونٍ بَعْدِي» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

Aisha, the wife of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , used to enter the rooms of some of his other wives, and she had a container of honey with her. He would take a lick from it and then sit with her. They noticed this and said to Hafsah and some of the Prophet's other wives, "We only find the smell of maghafeer (a type of plant) coming from you." Aisha replied, "It is honey that I lick at the place of so-and-so, but I am not affected by it." Al-Dhahabi did not mention this in his summary. – Remains Silent

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثَنَا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ ثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ حَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ قَالَتْ

عَائِشَةُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدْخُلُ عَلَى بَعْضِ أَزْوَاجِهِ وَعِنْدَهَا عُكَّةٌ مِنْ عَسَلٍ فَيَلْعَقُ مِنْهَا لَعْقًا فَيَجْلِسُ عِنْدَهَا فَأَرَابَهُمْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ لِحَفْصَةَ وَلِبَعْضِ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ إِنَّمَا نَجِدُ مِنْكَ رِيحَ الْمَغَافِيرِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا عَسَلٌ أَلْعَقُهُ عِنْدَ فُلَانَةَ وَلَسْتُ بِعَائِدٍ فِيهِ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص – سكت عنه

Umm Sulaym had a bowl, and I did not leave anything from the drink except that I offered it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , in which there was honey, milk, wine, and water. – Sound Chain per Muslim

«كَانَ لِأُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ قَدَحٌ فَلَمْ أَدَعْ شَيْئًا مِنَ الشَّرَابِ إِلَّا قَدْ سَقَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِيهِ الْعَسَلَ وَاللَّبَنَ وَالنَّبِيذَ وَالْمَاءَ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط مسلم – على شرط مسلم

"My father said, 'We fought alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and we had nothing to eat except for two things.' He asked, 'Do you know what those two things are?' I said, 'No.' He replied, 'Water and dates.'" – Sound

أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَاضِي بِمَرْوَ ثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ ثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ثَنَا بِسْطَامُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ قُرَّةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ

أَبِي «لَقَدْ غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَمَا لَنَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا الْأَسْوَدَانِ» قَالَ «وَهَلْ تَدْرِي مَا الْأَسْوَدَانِ؟» قَالَ لَا قَالَ «الْمَاءُ وَالتَّمْرُ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

"If the month and half of the month would pass for the family of Muhammad and nothing would be lit in their homes, neither for a lamp nor for anything else." I asked her, "What used to sustain you?" She replied, "Dates and water." – Sound Chain per Muslim

«إِنْ كَانَ لَيَأْتِي عَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ الشَّهْرَ وَنِصْفَ الشَّهْرِ وَمَا يُوقَدُ فِي بُيُوتِهِمْ نَارٌ لِمُصْبَاحٍ وَلَا لِغَيْرِهِ» قُلْتُ لَهَا مَا كَانَ يُعِيشُكُمْ؟ قَالَتْ «التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط مسلم – على شرط مسلم

Muhammad (SAW) never ate in one day except for two meals, and one of them was dates. – Sound

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْفَقِيهُ بِبُخَارَى ثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ الْحَافِظُ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَزْرَقُ ثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ عَنْ هِلَالٍ الْوَزَّانِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«مَا أَكَلَ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ فِي يَوْمٍ أَكْلَتَيْنِ إِلَّا أَحَدُهُمَا تَمْرٌ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

"O son of my nephew, do you see this stone? This is the stone of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. I have seen us (companions) near it, and none of us could fill his stomach with food until one of us could take the stone and tie it to his belly with a rope or a piece of cloth, and I swear by the One in whose hand is my soul, I have seen myself and the Prophet ﷺ distributing dates among us. Each one of us would receive seven dates and there would still be a residue in the seven dates, and I would be pleased with a good date." I (the son of Abu Huraira) asked, "Why didn't you take a good date for yourself?" He replied, "Because it caused me pain in my stomach, so I let it be on my shoulders." – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى ثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى أَنْبَأَ سَعِيدٌ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ جَاوَرْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ سَنَتَيْنِ فَقَالَ

«يَا ابْنَ شَقِيقٍ أَتَرَى هَذِهِ الْحَجَرَ لَحَجَرُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا عِنْدَهَا وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ طَعَامٍ يَمْلَأُ بَطْنَهُ حَتَّى أَنَّ أَحَدَنَا لِيَأْخُذُ الْحَجَرَ فَيَشُدُّهُ عَلَى أَخْمَصِهِ بِالْحَبْلِ أَوْ بِالْعُقْلَةِ مِنَ الْعُقَلِ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي وَقَسَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَيْنَنَا تَمْرًا فَأَصَابَ كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنَّا سَبْعُ تَمَرَاتٍ وَكَانَ فِي سَبْعِي حَشَفَةٌ فَمَا يَسُرُّنِي تَمْرَةٌ جَيِّدَةٌ بِهَا» قَالَ قُلْتُ لَمَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ؟ قَالَ «لِأَنَّهَا شَدَّتْ لِي مِنْ مَضَاغِي فَجَعَلْتُ أَعْلُكُهَا» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم – على شرط البخاري ومسلم

"She used to visit us for forty nights, and there would be no lamp or anything else lit in the house of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh)." They asked, "So how did you live?" She said, "With two black dates and water." – Sound

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَبَّانِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«كَانَتْ تَأْتِي عَلَيْنَا أَرْبَعُونَ لَيْلَةً وَمَا يُوقَدُ فِي بَيْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِصْبَاحٌ وَلَا غَيْرُهُ» قَالَ قُلْنَا أَيْ أُمَّاهْ فَبِمَ كُنْتُمْ تَعِيشُونَ؟ قَالَتْ «بِالْأَسْوَدَيْنِ التَّمْرِ وَالْمَاءِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

The Prophet ﷺ used to call dates and milk the two most delicious things. – Weak

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثَنَا الْخَصِيبُ بْنُ نَاصِحٍ ثَنَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُسَمِّي التَّمْرَ وَاللَّبَنَ الْأَطْيَبَانِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ طلحة بن زيد ضعيف – ضعيف

I read in the Torah that performing ablution before eating brings blessings to the food. So, I mentioned this to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , and he said, "Performing ablution before and after eating brings blessings to the food." Qais ibn al-Rabi' narrated this hadith exclusively from Abu Hashim, and his narration is more likely to be true than to be left out in this book.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ ثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ثَنَا أَبُو هِشَامٍ الرُّمَّانِيُّ عَنْ زَاذَانَ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ قَالَ

قَرَأْتُ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ الْوضُوءُ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ بَرَكَةُ الطَّعَامِ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «الْوضُوءُ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ وَبَعْدَ الطَّعَامِ بَرَكَةُ الطَّعَامِ» تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ وَانْفِرَادُهُ عَلَى عُلُوِّ مَحِلِّهِ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ أَنْ يُمْكِنَ تَرْكُهَا فِي هَذَا الْكِتَابِ

I entered upon ʿAli bin Abi Talib along with two other men, one man from among my people and another from Banu Asad - I think and he sent us on an errand and said: You are strong people, so use your strength to serve your religion. Then he went to the outhouse and relieved himself. Then he came out and took a handful of water and washed himself with it. Then he started reciting Qurʿan. Then it was as if he realised that we found that strange, so he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to relieve himself, then come out and recite Qurʿan and eat meat with us. Nothing came between him and the Qurʿan except janabah. – Sound

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَنَا وَرَجُلَانِ رَجُلٌ مِنَّا وَرَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ أَحْسِبُ فَبَعَثَهُمَا وَجْهًا فَقَالَ إِنَّكُمَا عِلْجَانِ فَعَالِجَا

عَنْ دِينِكُمَا ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الْمَخْرَجَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَأَخَذَ حَفْنَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ فَتَمَسَّحَ بِهَا ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَقَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ فَرَآنَا أَنْكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَأْتِي الْخَلَاءَ فَيَقْضِي الْحَاجَةَ ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ فَيَأْكُلُ مَعَنَا الْخُبْزَ وَاللَّحْمَ وَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ وَلَا يَحْجُبُهُ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ وَلَا يَحْجِزُهُ عَنْ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ شَيْءٌ سِوَى الْجَنَابَةِ أَوِ إِلَّا الْجَنَابَةَ «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» صحيح – صحيح

The Prophet ﷺ , Abu Bakr, and Umar came to the house of Abu Ayyub. When they ate and were full, the Prophet ﷺ said, "Bread, meat, dates, ripe fruits, and fresh dates. If you have collected such things, you should strike them with your palms and say 'Bismillah' (in the name of Allah) and ask for the blessings of Allah." – Sound

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ أَتَوْا بَيْتَ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ فَلَمَّا أَكَلُوا وَشَبِعُوا قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «خُبْزٌ وَلَحْمٌ وَتَمْرٌ وَبُسْرٌ وَرُطَبٌ إِذَا أَصَبْتُمْ مِثْلَ هَذَا فَضَرَبْتُمْ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ فَكُلُوا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَةِ اللَّهِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

If my mother made food for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and she made Tharid that was enough for his companions, my father would leave and call him. He would then place his hand on it and say, "Eat in the name of Allah." They would take from it, and when they finished eating, he would supplicate for them and say, "O Allah, forgive them, have mercy on them, bless them, and provide for them." – Sound

أَبِي لِأُمِّي لَوْ صَنَعْتِ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ طَعَامًا فَصَنَعَتْ ثَرِيدَةً تُقَلَّلُ فَانْطَلَقَ أَبِي فَدَعَاهُ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ «كُلُوا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ» فَأَخَذُوا مِنْ نَحْوِهَا فَلَمَّا طَعِمُوا دَعَا لَهُمْ فَقَالَ «اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَارْحَمْهُمْ وَبَارِكْ لَهُمْ وَارْزُقْهُمْ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

"I cooked food and brought it to the Prophet ﷺ while he was sitting. I placed it in front of him and he said, 'What is this?' I replied, 'It is a gift.' He put his hand on it and said to his companions, 'Eat in the name of Allah.'" – Sound

From 'Aishah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you eats food, then let him say: 'Bismillah.' If he forgets in the beginning, then let him say: 'Bismillah Fi Awwalihi Wa Akhirih (In the Name of Allah in its beginning and its end.)" – Sound

"From the Prophet ﷺ, it is reported that he was brought some food. Then, an Arab man came, looking as if he was being chased away, and he took some of the food. The Prophet ﷺ held his hand, and then a servant girl came, looking as if she was being chased away, and he took her hand. Then, he said, 'When the devil sees that you have neglected mentioning the name of Allah (by saying Bismillah - in the name of Allah) before eating, he comes to the Arab man and the servant girl to make them permissible for him. Therefore, say the name of Allah and eat.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ أُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ كَأَنَّمَا يُطْرَدُ فَتَنَاوَلَ فَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَدَهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ جَارِيَةٌ فَكَأَنَّمَا تُطْرُدُ فَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِيَدِهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَمَّا أَعْيَيْتُمُوهُ جَاءَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ وَالْجَارِيَةُ لِيَسْتَحِلَّ بِهِمَا الطَّعَامَ إِذَا لَمْ يُذْكَرِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ كُلُوا» قَالَ الْحَاكِمُ «أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ هَذَا اسْمُهُ سَلَمَةُ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ وَقَدْ رَوَى عَنْ عَائِشَةَ» وَالْحَدِيثُ صَحِيحٌ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح

My grandfather, Umayyah ibn Makhshiyy, was one of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . I heard him saying that there was a man who would eat while the Prophet ﷺ was watching, but the man did not mention the name of Allah until he reached the end of his meal. Then he said "Bismillah" (In the name of Allah) at the beginning and end of his meal. The Prophet ﷺ said, "The devil has been eating with him until he mentioned Allah, and whatever is left in his stomach will be vomited." – Sound

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى ثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ صُبْحٍ حَدَّثَنِي الْمُثَنَّى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ وَصَحِبْتُهُ إِلَى وَاسِطٍ فَكَانَ يُسَمِّي فِي أَوَّلِ طَعَامِهِ وَآخِرِهِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ رَأَيْتُ قَوْلَكَ فِي آخِرِ لُقْمَةٍ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ فِي أَوَّلِهِ وَآخِرِهِ قَالَ أُخْبِرُكَ عَنْ ذَاكَ

أَنَّ جَدِّي أُمَيَّةَ بْنَ مَخْشِيٍّ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ يَأْكُلُ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَنْظُرُ فَلَمْ يُسَمِّ اللَّهَ حَتَّى كَانَ فِي آخِرِ طَعَامِهِ فَقَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَوَّلِهِ وَآخِرِهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا زَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ يَأْكُلُ مَعَهُ حَتَّى سَمَّى فَمَا بَقِيَ فِي بَطْنِهِ شَيْءٌ إِلَّا قَاءَهُ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

my father

A Jew woman gave a sheep to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a gift. When the people spread out their hands, the Prophet ﷺ told them, "Stop! One of its organs has informed me that it is poisoned." He then sent for the woman and asked her, "Did you poison this food?" She replied, "Yes, if you are lying, I wanted to free the people from you, and if you are truthful, I knew that Allah would inform you about it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Mention the name of Allah and eat." So we ate, and none of us were harmed. – Sound

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ بَكْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثَنَا أَبُو قِلَابَةَ الرَّقَاشِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو عَتَّابٍ سَهْلُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ

أَنَّ يَهُودِيَّةً أَهْدَتْ شَاةً إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَمِيطًا فَلَمَّا بَسَطَ الْقَوْمُ أَيْدِيَهُمْ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «كُفُّوا أَيْدِيَكُمْ فَإِنَّ عُضْوًا مِنْ أَعْضَائِهَا يُخْبِرُنِي أَنَّهَا مَسْمُومَةٌ» قَالَ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى صَاحِبَتِهَا فَقَالَ «أَسَمَمْتِ طَعَامَكِ هَذَا؟» قَالَتْ نَعَمْ أَحْبَبْتُ إِنْ كُنْتَ كَاذِبًا أَنْ أُرِيحَ النَّاسَ مِنْكَ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ صَادِقًا عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ سَيُطْلِعُكَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ وَكُلُوا» فَأَكَلْنَا فَلَمْ يَضُرَّ أَحَدًا مِنَّا شَيْءٌ «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» صحيح – صحيح

From Hafsah bint Wahb Al-Khuzaiyyah, she narrated to me, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to use his right hand for his food, drink, and clothing, and he used his left hand for other purposes."

عَنْ جَارِيَةَ بِنْتِ وَهْبٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ حَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَجْعَلُ يَمِينَهُ لِطَعَامِهِ وَشَرَابِهِ وَثِيَابِهِ وَيَجْعَلُ يَسَارَهُ لِمَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ في سنده مجهول

"When we used to eat with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , we would not begin until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ started." – Sound

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ الْعَدْلُ ثَنَا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ قَالَا ثَنَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُتَوَكِّلِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

«كُنَّا إِذَا أَكَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ طَعَامًا لَا نَبْدَأُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ هُوَ يَبْدَأُ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

The Prophet ﷺ was with some of his companions when Uthman came leading a camel with two sacks tied on it containing fine flour, ghee, and honey. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "What do you have?" Uthman replied, "Fine flour, ghee, and honey." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Make dough." So they made dough and the Prophet ﷺ called for a big pot in which he put the flour, ghee, and honey. He cooked it and the Prophet ﷺ and his companions ate from it. Then he said to them, "Eat, for this is similar to the food of the people of Persia." – Sound

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذٍ الْعَدْلُ ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الرَّمْلِيُّ ثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ فِي بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ إِذْ أَقْبَلَ عُثْمَانُ يَقُودُ بَعِيرًا عَلَيْهِ غِرَارَتَانِ مُحْتَجَزٌ بِعِقَالِ نَاقَتِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا مَعَكَ؟» قَالَ دَقِيقٌ وَسَمْنٌ وَعَسَلٌ فَقَالَ «أَنِخْ» فَأَنَاخَ فَدَعَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِبُرْمَةٍ عَظِيمَةٍ فَجَعَلَ فِيهَا مِنْ ذَاكَ الدَّقِيقِ وَالسَّمْنِ وَالْعَسَلِ ثُمَّ أنْضَجَهُ فَأَكَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأَكَلُوا ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ «كُلُوا فَإِنَّ هَذَا يُشْبِهُ خَبِيصَ أَهْلِ فَارِسَ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

I was the leader of the delegation of Banu al-Muntafiq or (the narrator doubted) I was among the delegation of Banu al-Muntafiq that came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When we reached the Prophet, we did not find him in his house. We found there Aisha, the Mother of the Believers. She ordered that a dish called Khazirah should be prepared for us. It was then prepared. A tray containing dates was then presented to us. (The narrator Qutaybah did not mention the word qina', tray). Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came. He asked: Has anything been served to you or ordered for you? We replied: Yes, Messenger of Allah. While we were sitting in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ we suddenly saw that a shepherd was driving a herd of sheep to their fold. He had with him a newly-born lamb that was crying. He (the Prophet) asked him: What did it bear, O so and so? He replied: A ewe. He then said: Slaughter for us in its place a sheep. Do not think that we are slaughtering it for you. We have one hundred sheep and we do not want their number to increase. Whenever a ewe is born, we slaughter a sheep in its place. (The narrator says that the Prophet ﷺ used the word la tahsabanna, do not think). I (the narrator Laqit) then said: Messenger of Allah, I have a wife who has something (wrong) in her tongue, i.e. she is insolent. He said: Then divorce her. I said: Messenger of Allah, she had company with me and I have children from her. He said: Then ask her (to obey you). If there is something good in her, she will do so (obey); and do not beat your wife as you beat your slave-girl. I said: Messenger of Allah, tell me about ablution. He said: Perform ablution in full and make the fingers go through the beard and snuff with water well except when you are fasting. – Sound

كُنْتُ وَافِدَ بَنِي الْمُنْتَفِقِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَدِمْنَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَلَمْ نُصَادِفْهُ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ وَصَادَفْنَا عَائِشَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَأَمَرَتْ لَنَا بِحَرِيرَةٍ فَصَنَعَتْ لَنَا وَأُتِينَا بِقِنَاعٍ وَالْقِنَاعُ الطَّبَقُ فِيهِ تَمْرٌ ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «هَلْ أَصَبْتُمْ شَيْئًا أَوْ آمُرُ لَكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ؟» فَقُلْنَا نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَبَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ جُلُوسٌ قَالَ فَرَفَعَ الرَّاعِي غَنَمَهُ إِلَى الْمُرَاحِ وَمَعَهُ سَخْلَةٌ يَنْفِرُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا وَلَدَتْ يَا فُلَانُ» ؟ قَالَ بَهْمَةً قَالَ «فَاذْبَحْ لَنَا مَكَانَهَا شَاةً» ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ «لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ لَا يُحْسَبَنَّ أَنَّا مِنْ أَجْلِكُمْ ذَبَحْنَاهَا لَنَا غَنْمُ مِائَةٍ وَلَا نُرِيدُ أَنْ تَزِيدَ فَإِذَا وَلَّدَ الرَّاعِي بَهْمَةً ذَبَحْنَا مَكَانَهَا شَاةً» قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لِي امْرَأَةً فَذَكَرَ مِنْ طُولِ لِسَانِهَا وَبَذَائِهَا فَقَالَ «طَلِّقْهَا» فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ لِي مِنْهَا وَلَدًا قَالَ «فَمُرْهَا يَقُولُ عِظْهَا فَإِنْ يَكُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ فَسَتَفْعَلْ وَلَا تَضْرِبْ ظَعِينَتَكَ كَضَرْبِكَ أَمَتِكَ» قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنِ الْوضُوءِ قَالَ «أَسْبِغْ الْوضُوءَ وَخَلِّلِ الْأَصَابِعَ وَبَالِغْ فِي الِاسْتِنْشَاقِ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ صَائِمًا» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

"We made for the Prophet ﷺ a pot made of clay, and I brought it to him. He looked inside it and said, 'I thought it was meat.'" – Sound

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثَنَا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

جَعَلْنَا لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَخَّارَةً فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهَا فَاطَّلَعَ فِي جَوْفِهَا فَقَالَ «حَسِبْتُهُ لَحْمًا» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ إِنْ كَانَ إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ سَمِعَ مِنْ جَابِرٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَفِيهِ الْبَيَانُ الْوَاضِحُ لِمَحَبَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ اللَّحْمَ وَشَاهِدُهُ صحيح – صحيح

Isḥāq b. al-Ḥasan b. Maymūn And Muḥammad b. Ghālib b. Ḥarb > ʿAffān b. Muslim > Abū ʿAwānah > al-Aswad b. Qays > Nubayḥ al-ʿAnazī > Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh > Lammā

From Nu'bail Al-'Anazi, from Jabir bin Abdullah, he said: When my father was killed, he left behind a debt, so I mentioned it in detail. In it, I said to my wife, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ will come to us today at noon, so do not harm the Messenger of Allah ﷺ or speak to him." So he entered and she spread out a bed and a pillow for him, and he laid his head down and slept. I said to my servant, "Slaughter these sheep, as well as this fat calf, and pour out the contents before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wakes up, and I will be with you." So we did not finish slaughtering them until we were done, and he was still asleep. So I said to him, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he wakes up, he will call for ablution, and I fear that if he finishes, he will stand up without completing his ablution until we place the sheep before him." So when he got up, he said, "O Jabir, bring me something to purify myself." He did not finish his purification until I placed the sheep before him. Then he looked at me and said, "It seems that you prepared a kind of soup with the meat. Call Abu Bakr for me." Then he called his companions who were with him, and they entered. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ struck with his hand and said, "In the name of Allah, eat." So they ate until they were full, and there was still a lot of meat left. And he mentioned the rest of the hadith. – Sound

مَا حَدَّثَنِيهِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ غَالِبِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ قَالَا ثَنَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ

عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَمَّا قُتِلَ أَبِي تَرَكَ عَلَيَّ دَيْنًا فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ وَذَكَرَ فِيهِ قُلْتُ لِامْرَأَتِي إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَجِيئُنَا الْيَوْمَ نِصْفَ النَّهَارِ فَلَا تُؤْذِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَلَا تُكَلِّمِيهِ قَالَ فَدَخَلَ وَفَرَشَتْ لَهُ فِرَاشًا وَوِسَادَةً فَوَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ وَنَامَ فَقُلْتُ لِمَوْلًى لِي اذْبَحْ هَذِهِ الْعَنَاقَ وَهِيَ دَاجِنٌ سَمِينَةٌ وَالْوَحَا وَالْعَجَلَ افْرُغْ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَسْتَيْقِظَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا مَعَكَ فَلَمْ نَزَلْ فِيهَا حَتَّى فَرَغْنَا وَهُوَ نَائِمٌ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ يَدْعُو بِالطَّهُورِ وَإِنِّي أَخَافُ إِذَا فَرَغَ أَنْ يَقُومَ فَلَا يَفْرَغَنَّ مِنْ وُضُوئِهِ حَتَّى نَضَعَ الْعَنَاقَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَلَمَّا قَامَ قَالَ «يَا جَابِرُ ائْتِنِي بِطَهُورٍ» فَلَمْ يَفْرُغْ مِنْ طُهُورِهِ حَتَّى وَضَعْتُ الْعَنَاقَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيَّ فَقَالَ «كَأَنَّكَ عَمِلْتْ حَيْسًا بِلَحْمٍ ادْعُ لِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ» ثُمَّ دَعَا حَوَارِيَّهُ الَّذِينَ مَعَهُ فَدَخَلُوا فَضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِيَدِهِ وَقَالَ «بِسْمِ اللَّهِ كُلُوا» فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا وَفَضَلَ مِنْهَا لَحْمٌ كَثِيرٌ «وَذَكَرَ بَاقِي الْحَدِيثِ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» صحيح – صحيح

On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The tastiest meat is the meat of the back." This was narrated by Raqabah ibn Masqalah from this narrator of understanding, but it is not attributed to being authentic. – Sound

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى ثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي فَهْمٍ أَرَى اسْمَهُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَطْيَبُ اللَّحْمِ لَحْمُ الظَّهْرِ» وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ رَقَبَةُ بْنُ مَصْقَلَةَ عَنْ هَذَا الْفَهْمِيِّ وَلَمْ يَنْسِبْهُ صحيح – صحيح

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The tastiest meat is the meat of the back." The narration is authenticated through both chains of transmission and it has not been excluded.

أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ السَّكُونِيُّ بِالْكُوفَةِ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ النَّخَعِيُّ قَالَا ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ ثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ رَقَبَةَ بْنِ مَصْقَلَةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي فَهْمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَطْيَبُ اللَّحْمِ لَحْمُ الظَّهْرِ» قَدْ صَحَّ الْخَبَرُ بِالْإِسْنَادَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ

My father ordered me to make a silk garment, so I made it. Then he ordered me to take it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . When I arrived at his house, he asked, "What is this, O Jabir? Is this wool?" I replied, "No, O Messenger of Allah, but it is a silk garment that my father ordered me to make, so I made it and he ordered me to bring it to you." Then I returned to my father and he asked me, "Did you see the Messenger of Allah?" I replied, "Yes." He asked, "What did he say to you?" I replied, "He said, 'Is this wool, O Jabir?'" My father said, "May it be that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ desired meat, so he went to his poultry, slaughtered a chicken, and grilled it. Then he ordered me to bring it to him, and I did. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'May Allah reward the Ansar on our behalf, especially Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Haram and Saad ibn Ubadah.'" – Sound

أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحَافِظُ ثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ النَّسَائِيُّ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نَاجِيَةَ قَالَا ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ ثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَرَامٍ قَالَ

أَمَرَنِي أَبِي بِحَرِيرَةٍ فَصَنَعْتُ ثُمَّ أَمَرَنِي فَحَمَلْتُهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَإِذَا هُوَ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا يَا جَابِرُ أَلَحْمٌ هَذَا؟» قُلْتُ لَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنَّهَا حَرِيرَةٌ أَمَرَنِي بِهَا أَبِي فَصَنَعْتُ ثُمَّ أَمَرَنِي فَحَمَلْتُهَا إِلَيْكَ ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ إِلَى أَبِي فَقَالَ هَلْ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَمَا قَالَ لَكَ؟ قُلْتُ قَالَ «أَلَحْمٌ هَذَا يَا جَابِرُ؟» قَالَ أَبِي عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اشْتَهَى اللَّحْمَ فَقَامَ إِلَى دَاجِنٍ لَهُ فَذَبَحَهَا وَشَوَاهَا ثُمَّ أَمَرَنِي بِحَمْلِهَا إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ حَمَلْتُهَا إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «جَزَى اللَّهُ الْأَنْصَارَ عَنَّا خَيْرًا وَلَا سِيَّمَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَرَامٍ وَسَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح – صحيح

ʿAbdullāh b. Isḥāq al-Khurāsānī al-ʿAdl> Yaḥyá b. Jaʿfar b. al-Zibriqān > ʿAlī b. ʿĀṣim > ʿUbaydullāh b. Abū Bakr b. Anas > Anas

I heard Anas say, "I hunted a rabbit in Al-Baqi' and I followed its trail until it became intense. I was among those who excelled, so I preceded them to it and caught it. I then brought it to Abu Talhah and he ordered for it to be slaughtered. It was then cooked until it became tender. I presented it to the Prophet ﷺ and he said, 'What is this?' I said, 'It is a hunted rabbit that Abu Talhah sent to you.' He accepted it from me." – Sound

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزِّبْرِقَانِ ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ أَنْفَجْتُ أَرْنَبًا بِالْبَقِيعِ فَاشْتَدَّ فِي أَثَرِهَا فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنِ اشْتَدَّ فَسَبَقْتُهُمْ إِلَيْهَا فَأَخَذْتُهَا فَأَتَيْتُ بِهَا أَبَا طَلْحَةَ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَذُبِحَتْ ثُمَّ شُوِيَتْ فَأُعْجِزَ عَجُزُهَا فَأَرْسَلَ بِهِ مَعِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا هَذَا؟» قُلْتُ عَجُزُ أَرْنَبٍ بَعَثَ بِهَا أَبُو طَلْحَةَ إِلَيْكَ فَقَبِلَهُ مِنِّي «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» صحيح – صحيح

"I used to roast a sheep's belly for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he would eat from it before going out for prayer." - According to the conditions of Bukhari and Muslim – Sound Chain per Bukhārī and Muslim

حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِلَالٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي غَطَفَانَ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ قَالَ

«كُنْتُ أَشْوِي لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَطْنَ الشَّاةِ فَيَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ» على شرط البخاري ومسلم – على شرط البخاري ومسلم
