Jaʿfar b. ʿAwn > Abū Ḥayyān > Yazīd b. Ḥayyān > Zayd b. Arqam

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up one day to deliver a sermon. He praised Allah and glorified Him, then he said, "Oh people, indeed I am a human and soon the messenger of my Lord will come to me and I will respond to him. I am leaving behind among you two weighty things, the first of which is the Book of Allah. It contains guidance and light, so hold firmly to the Book of Allah and adhere to it." He emphasized and encouraged the people in this regard. Then he said, "And the people of my household, I remind you of Allah regarding the people of my household three times." – Sound Chain

حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَيَّانَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ حَيَّانَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ

قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا خَطِيبًا فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَنِي رَسُولُ رَبِّي فَأُجِيبَهُ وَإِنِّي تَارِكٌ فِيكُمُ الثَّقَلَيْنِ أَوَّلُهُمَا كِتَابُ اللَّهِ فِيهِ الْهُدَى وَالنُّورُ فَتَمَسَّكُوا بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَخُذُوا بِهِ فَحَثَّ عَلَيْهِ وَرَغَّبَ فِيهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «وَأَهْلَ بَيْتِي أُذَكِّرُكُمُ اللَّهَ فِي أَهْلِ بَيْتِي ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ» – إسناده صحيح
