What cannot be cut from the fruits

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'The hand is not to be cut off for (stealing) produce or the spadix of palm trees."' – Sound Chain

أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأََنَا يَحْيَى هُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا قَطْعَ فِي ثَمَرٍ وَلَا كَثَرٍ» – إسناده صحيح

al-Ḥusayn b. Manṣūr > Abū Usāmah > Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Muḥammad b. Yaḥyá b. Ḥabbān > a man from Qawmih > Rāfiʿ b. Khadīj

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا قَطْعَ فِي ثَمَرٍ وَلَا كَثَرٍ» – إسناده ضعيف

Isḥāq > Wakīʿ > Sufyān > Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Muḥammad b. Yaḥyá b. Ḥabbān from his uncle Wāsiʿ b. Ḥabbān > Rāfiʿ b. Khadīj

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ وَاسِعِ بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا قَطْعَ فِي ثَمَرٍ وَلَا كَثَرٍ» – إسناده صحيح

This tradition has also been narrated on the authority of ‘A’ishah through a different chain. – Sound Chain

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ نَحْوَهُ – إسناده صحيح

Isḥāq

I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "There should be no cutting in the fruit nor excess." He said this while referring to the fat of the date palm, and excess refers to the fibers in it. – Sound Chain

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ وَالثَّقَفِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا قَطْعَ فِي ثَمَرٍ وَلَا كَثَرٍ» قَالَ وَهُوَ شَحْمُ النَّخْلِ وَالْكَثَرُ الْجُمَّارُ – إسناده صحيح
