Muḥammad b. Kathīr > Makhlad b. Ḥusayn > Hishām > Ibn Sīrīn > Abū Hurayrah
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Dreams are of three types: a good dream is glad tidings from Allah, a bad dream is from Shaytan, and a dream that a person narrates about himself. So, if any one of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him not speak about it, and let him pray and seek protection from it." – Sound Chain
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مَخْلَدِ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الرُّؤْيَا ثَلَاثٌ فَالرُّؤْيَا الْحَسَنَةُ بُشْرَى مِنَ اللَّهِ وَالرُّؤْيَا تَحْزِينٌ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَالرُّؤْيَا مِمَّا يُحَدِّثُ بِهِ الْإِنْسَانُ نَفْسَهُ فَإِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ مَا يَكْرَهُهُ فَلَا يُحَدِّثْ بِهِ وَلْيَقُمْ وَلْيُصَلِّ» – إسناده صحيح
