In the vision of the Most High in sleep

Muḥammad b. al-Mubārak > al-Walīd b. Muslim > Ibn Jābir > Khālid b. al-Lajlāj And Saʾalah Makḥūl > Yuḥaddithah > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. ʿĀʾish

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "I saw my Lord in the best form." He said, "In what did the highest assembly differ?" So I said, "You know best, O Lord." He said, "He placed His hand between my shoulders, and I felt its coolness between my chest, and thus I knew what is in the heavens and the earth. And [Allah said], 'And thus We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth that he would be among the certain [in faith].'" – Sound Chain

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ جَابِرٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ اللَّجْلَاجِ وَسَأَلَهُ مَكْحُولٌ أَنْ يُحَدِّثَهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَائِشٍ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «رَأَيْتُ رَبِّي فِي أَحْسَنِ صُورَةٍ» قَالَ فِيمَ يَخْتَصِمُ الْمَلَأُ الْأَعْلَى؟ فَقُلْتُ «أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ يَا رَبِّ» قَالَ فَوَضَعَ كَفَّهُ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيَّ فَوَجَدْتُ بَرْدَهَا بَيْنَ ثَدْيَيَّ فَعَلِمْتُ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَتَلَا {وَكَذَلِكَ نُرِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَلَكُوتَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلِيَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُوقِنِينَ} – إسناده صحيح
