(23) – باب الْكَفَنِ بِغَيْرِ قَمِيصٍ
(23) – To shroud (a dead) body without using a shirt

Narrated 'Aisha:
The Prophet was shrouded in three pieces of cloth which were made of Suhul (a type of cotton), and neither a shirt nor a turban were used.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ كُفِّنَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي ثَلاَثَةِ أَثْوَابِ سَحُولَ كُرْسُفٍ، لَيْسَ فِيهَا قَمِيصٌ وَلاَ عِمَامَةٌ.
