Sahih al-Bukhari 1162
Narrated 'Aisha:
After offering the two Rakat (Sunna) the Prophet ﷺ used to talk to me, if I happen to be awake;
otherwise he would lie down.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَإِنْ كُنْتُ مُسْتَيْقِظَةً حَدَّثَنِي وَإِلاَّ اضْطَجَعَ. قُلْتُ لِسُفْيَانَ فَإِنَّ بَعْضَهُمْ يَرْوِيهِ رَكْعَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ. قَالَ سُفْيَانُ هُوَ ذَاكَ.
